I bought the grey loud shaker thinking I could use it live while playing kit, and it would still cut through loud enough for the audience to hear it without needing a mic

This Meinl shaker is very easy to control and get a large variety of shaker sounds

I slightly prefer the sound of the Latin Percussion LP441 soft shaker, but I read too many reviews about the current batch falling apart while being played

They're very well constructed, and I would recommend these to anyone looking for a set of good shakers.

There is a barely visible seam around the equator of the egg, but it seems pretty solid, I have no concerns that they would pop open, a complaint that I encountered when looking at cheaper shaker eggs, and the logo does not look like it will easily peel or wear off either

Now of course this shaker works great when using traditionally, but I really enjoyed the flexibility/new way of playing with a shaker and stick in hand!

We absolutely loved these egg shakers until my son dropped it on the floor and the seam split, allowing all the little pellets to spill out
