Mendini 4/4 MV300 Solid Wood Satin Antique Violin with Hard Case, Shoulder Rest, Bow, Rosin and Extra Strings (Full Size)

    • A lighter bow, though more expensive than new strings, is a good investment.-Get a mute
    • The bow was the main issue
    • Just a starter bow is really bad case kind of falling
    • The bow is pretty decent also although a bit loose
    • The bow of this violin is very flimsy and snapped off within a month of my sister using it
    • The violin is nice but the bow sucks it broke on the second day of use
    • , I knew I wasn't getting a super great quality bow to begin
    • The bow had a bad warp right in the end.
    • Like the violin but the bow came damaged.
    • Included is a decent bow, wrapped to protect the hair
    • it was good but it look cheep and the rosin was broken so the bow wasn't so good
    • When i got the violin the bow was broken the hair was touching the stick
    • The bow is warped, but usable.
    • After tuning, after resin, after more tuning, and after tightening the bow and scratching the resin!
    • The bow is better than the violin, but still the bow warps very easily
    • In this case, I paid for a nice hard padded case, about the WORST shoulder and chin rests in existence, a rubbish bow, and kindling wood in the shape of a violin
    • 3 stars because I think the bow is cheap
    • The bow is entirely uncomfortable to hold and the violin seems slightly smaller than a standard 4/4
    • Only problem is when we received it the bow was too loose and we had to tighten the strings.
    • My biggest complaint would be the bow
    • The bow was crooked, and strings are loose, cannot stay in place
    • All in all this violin is a complete bargain and comes with an extra set of strings and a extra bridge as well as a bow and rosin, shoulder rest and nice violin
    • The bow isn't that flimsy and neither is the violin, it's pretty sturdy
    • As I am just learning, the sound seems pretty good to me, so I take it the quality of the bridge (minus the way it's shaped), the bow, the strings, and rosin are good enough for a beginner
    • The problem is the bow they sent me was not curved.
    • Someone who plays 3-4 hours a day might like a bow that is balanced better and lighter materials
    • The bow broke while I was in the middle of getting the rosin applied for the first time--and I know what I'm doing
    • The bow works
    • There was a few little things, the bow has a very small crack at the tip that i fear is going to drop hairs faster than it would without the crack, and i can see the tailpiece seems to be over stressed and is falling out where it connects at the bottom of the violin
    • I can't complain to much given the price but the bow is warped and that is kind of a bummer
    • It also has a problem with the pitch of the G string changing while bowing according to bow position
    • The bow just fell apart and kept shedding so much.2
    • the bow was very very cheap
    • In this case, however, the bow that came with the violin was completely thrashed - all the hairs were detached from the binding and floating free in the case.
    • The bow was totally unusable and I will have to go purchase a different one
    • I did put some good strings on this violin almost out of the box, and she's got a nice bow, so the quality of the sound is actually really good.
    • Well the first thought is the bow is cheap
    • We recently also upgraded the bow, which has really made it sing; the bow it came with was fine, but one of the younger children damaged it, making it more difficult to use
    • The bow keep loosing the hair, and the teacher said it is the product's problem
    • It is common for the hair to randomly pop out--I've had a few students who had to buy another bow from the music store because their Cecilio bows broke while they were practicing.4
    • I am worried I'm going to break the bow tightening it so much
    • The third concern I have is the Bow, the bow comes with horsehair
    • good quality, but had cheap bow.
    • Things crap, especially the bow.
    • The bow completely shredded and fell apart on day one.
    • The bow isn't the best, but can't beat this price.
    • The bow was broken on arrival
    • The case is great and the bow (as far as I can tell) is fine.
    • My daughter broke the bow a few weeks after using it
    • We recently also upgraded the bow, which has really made it sing; the bow it came with was fine, but one of the younger children damaged it, making it more difficult to use
    • That or a better bow and strings
    • While some bows were usable, others were of decidedly poor quality
    • Also the bow was unable to be tightened which made it useless.
    • The bow, however, was absolutely awful
    • The bow was absolutely horrible
    • The bow doesn't work even after proper care
    • The bows are impressive, with full-width hair
    • This violin came with a hard case and an extra bow and strings, a bridge and other items
    • The bow will most likely fall apart within a couple moths of use.
    • I think with a better bow and a nice set of strings, this violin would sound even better.
    • Poor quality, the bow does not work
    • The bow isn't good and you have to put far to much pressure on it to work, when it should glide
    • The bow is also nippy very good and neither is the shoulder rest
    • Rosin costs about five dollars and, fortunately, there are plenty of reasonably priced bows on Amazon (or EBay, which is a good place to go for accessories that can cost less than they do on Amazon).I am amused and bemused by the angry, dire reviews left by a few violin teachers and music store owners, as if the existence of an inexpensive violin is an attack on all things beautiful about Western civilization.
    • Also one bow was twisted but still works.
    • I like the extra bow and bridge it comes with in
    • The bow is great, with all the hairs tightly in place
    • For $66.00 this is a very nice beginner violin, and includes rosin, a nice case, the shroud for the violin, a nice little bow, extra strings, extra bridge, and pegs
    • The bow is just fine
    • I have no clue if the bow is any decent or not, as I have never used one before
    • The bow is a cheap bow even for a beginner to use
    • I was impressed with the affordable price and good quality of this outfit overall, although my instructor said the bow was not very good at all
    • I ordered one and it arrived on time but the bow was warped and the string broke within seconds
    • You can pimp it or make it better by buying new better strings and a bow
    • I will probably change the strings to a higher quality and eventually I will get a better bow as well, but I am very pleased with the product
    • It might be just our luck to get such an awful bow but at this price, one should not expect a bow that is half way decent.
    • The bow is better than the violin, but still the bow warps very easily
    • But the bow is very uncomfortable to hold, the should rest is too thin, and the rosin doesn't work at all.
    • Get a better bow
    • The bow was broken upon arrival
    • The bow and rosin that it came with work fine, I haven't had any problems with either
    • The bow fell apart with 30 days of use and the instrument does not make a good sound.
    • The body of the violin is perfectly fine and the bow is good
    • The bows on these violins are very poor
    • We received a warped bow
    • The bow is falling apart after being used twiced
    • I would have given it 5 stars, but as I said, the bow is warped and the shoulder rest is uncomfortable.
    • This has been the worst bow I have ever come across with.
    • Till now, I had to replace the tuners with tailpiece (the original pieces were too hard to turn) and the bow ( it was impossible to get all the hair tight, part of them kept loose all the time).
    • Also, the Bow is very loose
    • If we were concerned we could restring and buy a nicer bow but for a budget entry level instrument it's great.
    • The bow is pretty decent also although a bit loose
    • The bow was broken when package arrived
    • I had to replace all the strings after 2 weeks and the bow was warped
    • Strings broke off of the violin and the bow the second I grabbed it
    • Plan on picking up a better bow if you buy this, even for someone only casually interested in learning to play.
    • The bow is extremely cheat and the hairs are a bit thin.
    • My bow seems fine; a few hairs came loose the first time I rosined it, but that's normal for a new bow.
    • Right now, the bow with this violin is simply fantastic
    • The only thing is the bow sucks it looses so much hair and its poorly made
    • Quality is not great: the bow came very slightly warped, the sound is fairly thin and raspy even in the hands of a good player, the strings are mostly junk.
    • Overall the bow is comfortable enough to a hour or two
    • The bow is good as well
    • The product was good but the bow was broken
    • This bow I actually keep a crescent wrench handy to tighten and untighten it because of both how tight the bow needs to be and how low quality the frog seems to be
    • My only issue is the bow and resin
    • You cannot tension the bow
    • Decent bow, no hairs sticking out
    • Bought for my son to use for violin lessons, it doesn't even make sound when you drag the bow across it
    • The bow is horrible
    • The bow is not too bad, especially when you consider the price, but I'm not a huge fan of
    • the bow broke down after 2 weeks of moderate use
    • I give it only 3 stars because of the below cheap quality bow that came with mine
    • Now the bad, the violin pegs are crooked, the resin broke on the first use, the bridge is very cheap and easily broken, the strings are like the bridge, and the bow was unusable
    • Got this violin for my boy and the strings were completely loose and in the wrong spots as I was trying to put them on they completely come off and the chin rest come off had to put it back on the bow is falling apart and the rosin cracked and fell apart got a new bow and rosin and still cannot use it as you cannot tune the violin no matter how much you try
    • But on the good side, the finish is beautiful and the bow is beautiful
    • If the rosin is properly administered with strong, careful bow strokes, it will adhere to the string producing a clear sound
    • However, no bow will "work" until you floss the bow with the rosin
    • Very nice to have fine tuners on every string, two bows, an extra set of strings, extra bridge, and rosin
    • The shoulder rest does not work for me, the bow is really stiff and makes a grainy sound compared to my $10 bow
    • ($13) - The bow is not very good either
    • The bow broke in my hands while adding rosin
    • If you don't get a bad bow (it doesn't sound, from the reviews, like everyone does) then this might be worth it, for an absolute beginner
    • The bow is perfect!
    • The bow is awesome, it is Brazil wood and very light and perfect for a young student and that there is a second one is amazing.
    • I love the bow
    • although the bow was unusable (it had way too much of a camber).
    • Beginning an instrument is hard, it's even harder when your instrument won't stay in tune, the bridge keeps falling off or your bow outright breaks
    • The bow was too loose to play anything and when I tried to tune the strings, most of them snapped right off
    • The horsehair was painted pink on some parts, as well as the bow
    • Good beginning violin but the bow was worthless!
    • And the bow creates no friction, therefore it doesn't make sound
    • We did buy a better bow though
