Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection

    • The story is very paper thin, but it does show the Outer Heaven Uprising, a very significant event in the Saga, and the roots of Solid Snake and Big Boss' complicated relationship
    • If you are a diehard fan of Solid Snake then you already have these games
    • Metal Gear" and "Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake" are inside "Metal Gear Solid 3"
    • The peaceful balance that Snake and his military seek to obtain is threatened when a mysterious group, known as the Peace Sentinels, set up a base in-country with the latest weaponry and firepower
    • It's both an adaptation of MGS4 (told from the perspective of Otacon, Solid Snake's geeky best bro) and a character/story analysis of the Saga as a whole
    • Even though Big Boss is dead, his legacy still lingers, in the form of a new villain; Liquid Snake, a man who looks identical to protagonist Solid Snake
    • The first disc is basically a re-branded HD Collection disc, containing the HD remakes of Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater, and Peace Walker, as well as both Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
    • Solid Snake*2005- Metal Gear Solid/VR Missions
    • The collection includes: Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty HD, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD, Metal Gear Solid
    • Big Boss is given proper motivations (and the roots of those motivations are explored in MGS3, PW, and soon, GZ/TPP), and Solid Snake is fleshed out as someone suffering from PTSD after his heroics in Outer Heaven are challenged by old friends turned foes
    • Solid Snake Rocks!!!
    • To answer a lot of concerns I am seeing in other reviews, MG1 and MG2: Solid Snake are in the main menu for MGS3
    • MGS3 (This includes the original Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake which were originally released on the MSX in Japan.)
    • Metal Gear, Solid Snake, MGS, MGS2, MGS3, and MGS4 as well as the graphic novels and VR Training missions
    • Solid Snake returns, now as an old man who feels out of place in the world of the dehumanizing War Economy (where war is a business, backed by Private-Military Contractors), which can be analogous to Kojima himself
    • Which was exciting because it gives more story about Big Boss before the Solid Snake times
    • For the price of one "new" game, you will get the following:Metal Gear (the original NES classic)Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (originally released for the MGX2)Metal Gear Solid (aka Twin Snakes aka Integral) (originally on the PSX and GameCube)Metal Gear Solid: VR missions (PSX spin-off based on the Metal Gear Solid training missions)Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (aka Substance) (PS2 title featuring Raiden)Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (aka Subsistence) (PS2 title, prequel to Metal Gear the NES
    • This Snake would later become Big Boss, the father (and antagonist) of Solid Snake
    • Both Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are accessed under the mgs3 game menu, and the MGS1 code comes with the VR missions
    • 1998:Featuring Solid Snake, It blended unique elements of stealth game play with action/adventure elements set to the backdrop of an interesting cast of characters and intriguing story lines
    • However, despite being a mandatory day-one purchase for any fan of Solid Snake and the legendary Big Boss, I still feel that they shouldn't have forgotten once again of the great "Portable Ops" game (for PSP)
    • The two disc set contains MGS 2, 3, 4, Peace Walker and the motion comics as well as the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake
    • I would have preferred to have MGS on one of the discs instead of having to download it, but I believe this is to discourage buying it used (download uses a code that may be used by only one person with a PS account). The series follows the Metal Gear story from Big Boss's beginnings in 1964 to his genetic son's, Solid Snake, final confrontation with the Patriots, an untouchable political organization controlling world war and economies in 2014
    • The two disc set contains MGS 2, 3, 4, Peace Walker and the motion comics as well as the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake
    • MGS2 also takes several big risks, the most famous of which was replacing Solid Snake with a more effemine protagonist, named Raiden, who aspires to be like the legendary Solid Snake of the Shadow Moses Incident
    • Solid Snake- Metal Gear Solid (via download from voucher
    • He's grown so much since MGS3, just as Solid Snake grew as a character after MGS1
    • I remember play Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake with my cousins when I was a kid
    • Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
    • You play as an aging Solid Snake, aptly codenamed Old Snake due to the age progression
    • Spanning 8 chapters and 50 years of history, the Metal Gear Saga is the story of the rise and fall of Big Boss, and the legend of Solid Snake, and how their influence effected the lives of others
    • Snake Eater*1970- Portable Ops1974- Metal Gear Solid
    • Also Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake are found in the main menu for Snake Eater
    • I especially love how Itoh portrays and analyzes Solid Snake
    • Now you can relive the exploits of Solid Snake from the MSX days to MSG 4
    • Solid Snake is a fun enough game, but I honestly would have preferred the "little crap game" of Snake's Revenge, despite its non-canonical nature
    • After a while of bumbling around I found that Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake plus the graphic novels are in the Menu for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
    • and i knew about solid snake, that's about it
    • Through the events of Snake Eater and left with an overwhelming sense of disappoint from the government he serves, Snake decides to break away and form his own militia, a Military without Borders (Militaires Sans Frontières), in Costa Rica
    • METAL GEAR 2: SOLID SNAKE (1990 - MSX)
    • Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake
    • Snake's Nightmare is cut out of MGS3
    • As an American, I never had an opportunity to play the original Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake released in Japan, as the American ports were different and not canon (well part 1 was sort of)
    • Now I'm 33 and I can never get enough Snake
    • in fact, many of the things people praised about Spec Ops: The Line and BioShock Infinite (deconstructing action game narratives and their relationship with the sadistic nature of the gameplay) were done in this MGS2 first, a decade before those games were released (except the pretentious messages of those games are counter-balanced with yet another inspiring speech from Solid Snake, about the true nature of "reality."
    • That particular package included MGS2, MGS 3, MGS: Peace Walker, MG and MG2: Solid Snake, and was one of my favorite best buys
    • Solid Snake investigates a remote Alaskan base taken over by the terrorist group known as Foxhound unit, his former unit
    • Metal Gear, Solid Snake, MGS, MGS2, MGS3, and MGS4 as well as the graphic novels and VR Training missions
