The version has cleaned up the interface, feels a lot more intuitive

It's hard to say for sure, but I know that the interface, which is number one for me, is easier to use for sure

And although I understand it can be difficult to deal with rather sweeping interface changes, after spending a lot of time with Office 2016 for Mac, I am very pleased with the clean, friendly interface and the consistency with the same applications I use regularly in Windows 10

The other applications seem also to be faster and the interface is cleaner but very little has changed in the overall layout.

Excel works much faster, the interface looks better and the whole suit is very stable.

As someone who switched from Windows, I appreciate this update

I'm hoping maybe they will provide an update to correct this

The reason I like this update is that it resolves some of those differences and makes this behave more like the PC version

On my recent MacBook Pro (with the quad-core i7 and 16GB of memory), Word, PowerPoint and Excel are notably faster and more stable than the prior release

I will mention that my Mac has an up to date processor, a solid state drive and plenty (16GB) of RAM - and El Capitan.

Microsoft did a great job on this, not to many differences between the Mac version and the PC version

Better job on 10, but still too much torture on Windows 8.1 and Office 2016 for Mac for me to even consider a switch.

I find that Apple Mail and Apple Calendar does a great job of syncing with Google and the price can't be beat

As an avid Mac fanboy I love and use Pages, Keynote, and Numbers, but, because of my job, I like to have a copy of Office as well

However, this stand alone is great in that I need no longer use one of my 5 available copies on a particular Mac laptop.

To me, this sounds like a more cost efficient way to get Office, especially if you have more than one computer (say, a Mac and a Windows PC, or an iPad).And speaking of the iPad, one of the things I like best about the newest release is that the big Office apps run really, really well on an iPad these days

I figured I'd upgrade to this new Office Mac 2016 because,well they have not released a version for the Mac in 5 years

I recently purchased and installed this on a clean install of El Capitan and new macbook pro retina, maxed out machine, latest greatest OS

Download is via the web and takes a while to complete, but install was painless and most of the frustrating Microsoft install pain points have been streamlined

Install is easy, and if you have fallen far out of date with your programs or are looking to start fresh, this is a good place to start, which I would not have said for some of the recent versions (2008 was the worst; 2011 was acceptable.)

The install was relatively painless, you must follow the instructions in the box to activate and download the software, it is very hard to find on the Microsoft’s website, all they want you to find is Office 365.Once the software is installed you have to start one of the programs to finish the activation

I also currently utilize a partitioned windows based edition as well as the monthly 360 program for Mac.

Recently, I started using Office 2016 for Windows for work and wondered how the new Mac version looked

Both the word and the excel programs freeze often - I have had it freeze at least 100 times since its purchase.

Why Microsoft released this outlook 2016 bad and malfunction software to the market.

But I've been using these software packages for a lot of years, and I'm tired of the stacks and stacks of software discs and thrilled to be able to just go online and grab it as needed

Amazon customer support said their policy was not to replace such a defective items - strictly a refund - but definitely ZERO compensation for my time and effort wasted ordering a product from Amazon

So Microsoft is stuck between these extremes...on one hand, the current products are probably more capable than most people can use, and on the other hand, you need to evolve but not change too much lest you alienate today's customers

Outlook 2016 for mac is unable to sync either calendar or contacts with an iPhone.

Outlook won't work with Exchange unless you have Exchange 2010 SP2 or newer.

Outlook for Mac 2016 is unable to sync with Google Calendar without purchasing expensive third-party syncing software

Programs have worked flawlessly and I especially enjoy using Outlook for my mail program.

I really like Outlook better.
