Reviews around graphic (5.00 of 5)

  • Amazing game, graphics, music, storyline, and almost impossible to finish
  • I definitely loved the graphics and the in-game instructions were excellent.

Reviews around combat (5.00 of 5)

  • Combat is fun and you have a variety of different strategies to dispatch enemies
  • Shadow of Mordor is a game with some glaring weak points that manages to make up for it with some novel and fun systems, as well as solid combat, responsive controls, and interesting environments.

Reviews around experience (5.00 of 5)

  • But, well worth the experience.
  • The graphics are wonderful, even if you bump it down to medium for a lower end computer, or if your computer can handle it, high for a brighter experience.
  • Since there's a sequel coming in late 2017 for this game, I'm hopeful that the developers were able to use Shadow of Mordor as a test run for some bigger, more elaborate ideas and end up giving us a better experience the second time around.

Reviews around visual (5.00 of 5)

  • Cometh "Shadow of Mordor" to pull me from my slump and awaken my heart, with blistering 60 FPS frame rates, gorgeous & fluidly rendered visuals, well voice-acted scenes, a new (although non-canon, but very pleasantly unfamiliar) storyline, non-stop action and finely tuned controls
  • I love the game, awesome mechanics, spectacular visuals, and overall fun

Reviews around execute (5.00 of 5)

  • Brilliant, gorgeous game, well executed, and the Nemesis System keeps me coming back to it months after I finished the admittedly so-so storyline.

  • they did a great job and deserve credit!

Reviews around nemesis system (4.33 of 5)

  • The games dynamics change upon outcome of every mission/death of a war chief, nemesis system is truly genius, get this game right now if you don't have it!
  • The Nemesis system is really cool and the controls are fluid
  • Or explore the nemesis system by issuing death threats and working betrayals and riots
  • The nemesis system was amazing, though it doesn't change the game play that drastically from game to game
  • After about the halfway point in the game, it's too easy to stay alive and defeat just about any number of enemies with no real difficulty, and since you can kill anything you want, and don't die, the Nemesis System shrivels up since it's getting no input from you other than "uruk died, uruk died, uruk died" instead of the more dynamic interactions possible earlier on, before your character gains too much power.

Reviews around story (3.75 of 5)

  • Good story as I love LOTR4
  • The story was okay--good support for the movies
  • I don't find the story or the main character to be as good or as charming as Ezio Auditore, but the gameplay is truly a step up
  • But the game's story is very weak, and very short.

Reviews around control (3.22 of 5)

  • I felt that the controls were great, and I enjoyed the different types of combat.
  • Shadow of Mordor is a game with some glaring weak points that manages to make up for it with some novel and fun systems, as well as solid combat, responsive controls, and interesting environments.
  • Shooting them in the head, exploding their heads, cutting off their heads, throwing them off cliffs, burning them with exploding barrels, backstabbing, causing monsters to attack them, mind controlling them to kill other orcs and then have their heads explode when I was done with them, etc, etc.

Reviews around captain (1.44 of 5)

  • I found myself trying to kill Orcs captains before they could talk
  • At times you have to fight 30+ orcs AND kill the Captain/warchief3
  • The only time I found this game really repetitive is when I was going for 100% completion and wanted to dominate every captain, complete every weapon mission and find every rune and relic
  • So if you have killed 3-4 captains before and you die say 4 times then 4 new captains take their place which essentially wipes all the effort that you made to kill the captains in the first place.4
  • If you die then the captain is promoted AND another captain fills the empty spot

Reviews around orc (1.00 of 5)

  • I found myself replaying some Challenge mode over and over again killing orcs.
  • Shooting them in the head, exploding their heads, cutting off their heads, throwing them off cliffs, burning them with exploding barrels, backstabbing, causing monsters to attack them, mind controlling them to kill other orcs and then have their heads explode when I was done with them, etc, etc.
  • So yea, as you can tell the best part of the game is killing orcs.
  • At times you have to fight 30+ orcs AND kill the Captain/warchief3

Reviews around point (1.00 of 5)

  • Now that the bad points are out of the way let me say that this game is great, and have played it for near 50 hours, and unlocked almost everything.
  • As other reviewers have pointed out, it does seem odd that after the first half of the game, you travel to a different area and everything is reset.
  • Those are the negative points with the game that prevent giving it 5 stars
  • Shadow of Mordor is a game with some glaring weak points that manages to make up for it with some novel and fun systems, as well as solid combat, responsive controls, and interesting environments.
