This comes with a removable rubber ducky for portable use
-
It works well for what it is, and I’ve used the battery pack to transmit about 1-1/2 miles with the rubber antenna.
-
Here in Korea... my pals use FM, so I can hear their voice well and it means RX is OK

Reviews around cb (4.82 of 5)
-
This is an amazing CB radio that can be configured for any use.
-
Yes, I am assuming that the CB’s in Mexico are using more than 5 watts, that the US FCC has limited us to.
-
This is a really nice compact CB that works great for the occasional user
-
Purchased this CB for when out on the trails and it works great!
-
This is probably the best CB radio if you want to use it in different vehicles.

Reviews around price (4.75 of 5)
-
Well worth the price, especially considering the flexibility it offers
-
Price is very reasonable for what you get cb, antenna and two battery packs
-
The price is right and it does what it's suppose to do for a 4- 5 watt walkie.
-
Not worth 1/2 the price
-
I would not absolutely not recommend this P_S to anyone ever

Reviews around size (4.46 of 5)
-
Love the compact size of the hand-held CB and its clarity once you hook it up to an external antenna.
-
LOVE the size, but I wish it worked a little better without needing an external antenna.
-
The last CB I had was full sized, hard wired through the radio and never worked at all so needless to say this an improvement.
-
Works great! small compact size, with many features and easy to use
-
I like the size and design, but this radio must not have much range at all.

I bought an external mic and connect the radio to my roof mounted vehicle antenna and got very good reception

This radio had very poor reception and would not transmit.
-
I even tried to add a antenna to my vehicle and still the reception was not good.
-
this midland is clear but reception is poor for any other channels other than weather channel 1

bought 2 unit 1 for each vehicle work well highly recommended for anyone who wants a CB Radio when you travel but don't want to mount anything permanent. great units.

Works fine for the trails without having a bulky head unit mounted on your dash.

If you add in the three-star reviews the odds jump to a one in four chance of getting a bad unit
-
Easily attach an antenna to your primary vehicle and you have a great longer range unit

It worked well in the mountains as well as on flat terrain

Plastic is cheap, battery connector are weak, reception is just fair
-
It worked well in the mountains as well as on flat terrain
-
only beef was that it seemed somewhat more susceptible to interference, especially from aliens, and a somewhat cheap plastic feel that told me it wouldn't survive slipping out of my fingers or being dropped when the aliens beam me up.

Reviews around speaker (2.46 of 5)

The speaker was sufficiently loud and as long as the transmission was strong enough, clarity was no issue.

The only real complaint is the speaker that's built in to it is really just terrible.

A bit shaky on x-mitt range, but reception clarity is gr8
-
I wouldn't trust too much on it, also it can turn out a bit tricky to change between 12v and batteries pack

I put it in my handlebar cup holder and use a single ear plug - can talk into it but that’s a bit difficult while riding

It should be providing significantly better reliability on its products based on the very high numbers of negative reviews here on Amazon.

Many of the negative reviews here have to do with connecting this transceiver to bad antennas

I hesitantly took a gamble on this one based on the good reviews, as I thought such a small, compact unit could never be as good as an actual large hard wired unit.

-
I hesitantly took a gamble on this one based on the good reviews, as I thought such a small, compact unit could never be as good as an actual large hard wired unit.
-
This unit in my opinion is just as good as a larger hard wired standard 4 watt system
-
I know I can't expect much, but once I hook up an external speaker and antenna I might as well just get a hard wired unit
-
The idea is good, but the piece that plugs into the car and into the unit has bad wiring and the power cuts in and out when the cord moves.
-
No need to hard wire and can hook up to a vehicle mounted antenna for greater range
