The weather radio is easy to use and a nice feature when you are out and mother nature starts doing things the weatherman didn't mention last night.

I ordered me a set of these radios & they have so many features that i can't write about all of them it would take nothing less of a novel to tell all of the good & useful features that these radios pack I may have to get a FCC License to use the GMRS Channels & thats pending now back to the radios I love everything about the 2 ways they have that VOX hands free use & a set of head phones & they work perfectly it did take some adjusting to get me dumbo ear to fit the head phone i will be using .I chose the Midland GTX1050VP4 because my dad has a older set of them & they ar estill working as good as my new one so that tells me that they are in for the long haul dad bought his over 10 years

These things work great and have some many nice features.

Yes, maybe a battery is not the end of the world for your company-- or my radio since I have the option to use AAs (great feature)-- but, the fact that a problem has been identified and Midland provides a quick and easy solution is perfect.

the only draw back was when the hands free feature is on the ear buds pick up a lot of background noise, and even on whisper mode u have to whisper kind of loud for them to pick up your sound which normally cuts off the first word of ur sentence.

Base charger is a nice feature but the instruction say to NOT leave the radios on the charger after they have been charged

Radios worked as or better than expected

a waysI don't know about the 36 miles range, but they sure work well at 3-4 miles range in the woods, as well as in a big concrete and steel building in a metropolitan area.

They helped to facilitate intermittent conversation between my wife and I as we travelled across the great expanses that makeup our great country.

I use our radios at our cabin in the mountains as well as on job sites.

but these are not to bad as we have gotten use to then

They won't work nearly as well as much more expensive HAM hand held radios but they generally allowed communication when we tried.

We have 2 with extra batteries, highly recommended as they work great for what they were designed to do.
