(this is in the rocky, broken up terrain in the Texas Lakes region with large mesas in between us
-
Reception is a little spotty in rough terrain, Great for on the farm, not so great for in the woods.
-
but I've reached other drivers that were no less than two miles away in a very hilly / obscured terrain.
-
While I have not had a chance to test the ultimate range, I can say that we got clear reception over a few miles in rough terrain where we had absolutely no line of sight
-
Only used them for one moose hunt but was able to talk to lesser quality radios from 6-8 kms away in dense rolling terrain
-
In thick forest/rough terrain they travel less than 1 mile.
-
Maybe 1 mile capability in the city, 10-15 miles in the forest on uneven terrain, works well at the lake, on road trips and having some fun with the kids
-
Slightly better than expected in bad terrain.
-
Highly recommend A++++++
-
It's not as flexible or soft as you'd hope considering not all ears are created equal
-
Radios worked as or better than expected
-
a waysI don't know about the 36 miles range, but they sure work well at 3-4 miles range in the woods, as well as in a big concrete and steel building in a metropolitan area.
-
They helped to facilitate intermittent conversation between my wife and I as we travelled across the great expanses that makeup our great country.
-
I use our radios at our cabin in the mountains as well as on job sites.
-
but these are not to bad as we have gotten use to then
-
They won't work nearly as well as much more expensive HAM hand held radios but they generally allowed communication when we tried.
-
We have 2 with extra batteries, highly recommended as they work great for what they were designed to do.
