Bought the Light and will buy the window antenna to see of I can bet better reception that stays tuned

I live 16 miles away ("as the crow flies") from the NOAA antenna and I can barely get the live weather radio report so I am not sure why the reception would be so bad on

I also like the options for external antenna (for improved operation in basements or other areas with poor radio reception) and a flashing alert beacon (which could be useful for hearing impaired people or noisy environments).I just wish I could tune out some types of alerts - for example flooding since I live on really high ground.

Great reception and works great on batteries.

In fact, the reception gets worse when you plug in the AC adapter.

In the past it has been so frustrating getting an FM/AM radio to work in the cellar with decent reception and know for sure when safe to come out.

I think I'll try a handheld and hope for better reception quality.
