As for syncing issues, for Android I found that besides Bluetooth, you also need to be connected to the internet and have location settings on, and if you have any other apps that sync with the Misfit data (like My Fitness Pal), they must be closed

But I feel like the Misfit constantly shortchanges me on steps (it's usually about 150 steps behind on average) and doesn't give me credit for some activity

Here are my cautions for buyers-to-be: if you're not tech-savvy, spend time (an hour) up front with someone who is tech-savvy to learn the device; you need a tablet or cell phone that is blue-tooth compatible in order to get the reports on activity, etc.; buy your Misfit ONLY from an authorized seller (directly from Misfit or from Amazon as seller and fufillment); if you're going to use the original band, use a little Gorilla glue to make sure the device stays secure in the band (or buy a secure band) to avoid losing the Misfit.
