The quality of notebook paper these days is pretty bad, and you can tell by feeling the pages
It bleeds, dents, frays, and rips as if it were designed to do that
The quality of paper inside is so good, it's smooth and thick
And they are of good quality and so is the cover and pocket
I understand that like all else, production cost plays an important part in today's economy (these are now produced in China instead of Italy), but I for one, will no longer use this item which has truly lost its well known quality

I was wary of Moleskine for a long time since their products are so expensive, but I bit the bullet
I have been using the Moleskine Sketchbook Large for a long time and have recently run out of my big stock of this great product
I am saddened by the degradation in quality of a previously nice product
Also, the first two pages of my book were stuck together, so I pulled them apart and you can see the white between them (see photo 2).I am absolutely amazed at how shoddy this product is
I recommend this product, is great quality and easy to carry as a travel sketchbook

I was legitimately shocked by how nice the book is for the price
before i owned this, i was drawing in a bienfang and i thought that was a great book
So if you don't want to mess up the book itself, don't sketch directly in there
The front page has a little printed section for you to put basic personal info in case you lose the book and whomever finds it is caring enough to contact you
The pages are binded in groups, so if you were to rip them off itwon't entirely destroy the whole book

If you won't be drawing in these, they are a beautiful and long lasting alternative to the spiral bound/flimsy notebooks that don't last long
The Leuchtturm Notebook looks nice and it has some much superior writer/artist Paper stock
The Leuchtturm Plain Notebook is equally expensive, or cheaper, as the similar Moleskine Large Sketchbook
Compared to the Moleskine classic notebook I just got, the paper is night and day
Compared to the Large Moleskine Sketchbook (I found the Moleskine paper to be too "waxy" and lusterless to be useful as a true art Sketchbook), the Leuchtturm Plain Notebook is far superior

The thicker pages lend themselves to the mixed media & the archival nature of the product insures that whatever is worked in them will last a very long time.
It bleeds through onto next page and even two next pages some times
I bought this sketchbook for my art-student daughter, who wasted no time in filling the pages with lots of really good drawings

The smooth surface really makes sketches look amazing, since it doesn't "soak up" the graphite and create fuzzy lines.
Maybe if I just judge it for itself and don't compare it to this older one with the creamy soft pages that let the pen glide across leaving a perfect line every time.
The thick pages keep bleeding away, so you don't get annoying lines from ink on your new pages
It's easy to erase pencil lines with it, as long as you don't use too much pressure with the pencil
If you're trying to sketch in pencil and then erase the sketch lines, you'll end up with a damaged product

Also suggest that you not layer too much on the pages as you will damage the spine or break the elastic closure.
I hear people call it Mole Skin, but that completely disregards the "E" at the end
This is a nice, sturdy sketchbook- the pages are bound in a manner in which they won't fall out if you crack the spine intensely (I always get frustrated if the paper can't lie flat)
