i bought an ipod and the monster cable for my grandfather, and he loves it.

An ipod is so much nicer to use on the road than XM or Sirius in your car, they don't let you switch easily from your toddlers favorite Raffi to your or your spouses favorite music mix.

The only thing you may want to do is play around with the settings on your car radio as well as your Ipod for maximum sound quality.
