    • I built a new computer and needed to get some data from my old hard drive
    • I suddenly found myself needing an external drive bay for my USB 3.0 supported router that could support either 3.5" or 2.5" drives as needed for 3D Modeling backup
    • Use it mostly cloning MAC hard drives.
    • (Your drive will open just like a regular folder when detected)I did get an initial message "not authorized" or "You do not have permissions" I ignored it and was able to access years of games, pictures and videos I thought were lost from old computers that we threw away but were smart enough to keep the hard drive
    • This is a low tech, functional unit that will work in a pinch and is much less expensive than sending the hard drive to a shop to have it transferred to a back up drive
    • Works perfectly for when you are too lazy to open your computer case or already have it loaded with Hard drives!

    • If you want to swap hard drives in the docking station, you should turn off the power to the unit, swap the drives out, then power it back on.

    • In any event, it's an extremely useful item for anybody who has extra hard drives laying around, and would like to use them as external hard drives
    • My only complaint is that the drive doesn't sleep like many other enclosures do
    • Don't leave your hard drive in this for more than a week, it will collect dust depending on your house.
    • My one complaint is that since it is not enclosed, the hard drive can just fall out if you are moving it and are not super careful
