Reviews around performance (4.77 of 5)

  • So the point of this review is to tell you to just buy the Motorola modem so much better performance wise,
  • Anyone on my "node" who has an older modem or probably the one from the cable company is not going to have as many channels available to I should get better performance
  • It's not the fastest modem out there, but it delivers better performance than the Arris rental modem.
  • Comcast's modem also had slower actual performance; this one actually gets the performance we're paying for.
  • Speed-wise, it delivered better performance than the rental it replaced.

  • Crazy easy setup, super compact, boots lightning fast
  • Once it arrived, the setup via my laptop was easy, no issues.
  • No setup issue or anything on TWC 300mbs service
  • I did have to call my provider to activate it, but you couldn't ask for such an easy setup

Reviews around price (4.59 of 5)

  • It's like night and day from my previous modem (currently priced at $118, crapping out at less than 3 years old)
  • Good price for getting rid of the $10 per month lease charge with Time Warner.
  • Perfect, fast delivery, although was not the best price.
  • What attracted me to this particular model was its compact size, price, performance, and good reviews
  • It was a reasonable price and will pay for itself in 6 months of rental payments.

Reviews around cable (4.50 of 5)

  • Purchased in good faith, No idea if it works as Cable One do not support this model
  • I set the modem up on a known good cable connection and connected it to a single PC and powered it up.
  • Comcast cable works well and I can connect to my home network
  • The dual function Uplink/downlink LED indicators helped to troubleshoot bad cable I had in my apartment.
  • Incorrect cables wouldm't work with my system.

Reviews around motorola (4.16 of 5)

  • I bought this modem to replace a failing Motorola modem that I had for several years.
  • I am an avid Motorola fan when it comes to Cable Modems
  • I don't get any faster up or downloads, but that's not Motorola's fault
  • However, for replacing a rental modem, I recommend this Motorola.
  • Between the SB6183 and MB7420, Motorola won me over with the Full-Band Tuner and integrated surge protection

Reviews around speed (4.11 of 5)

  • Since Time Warner issued me my leased modem router, I had nothing but daily disconnects and slow speeds.
  • Will this modem give you significantly faster speeds than a similar modem?
  • Upgraded to this modem on xfinity since I was getting awful speeds when paying for blast package
  • Each time Xfinity bumped up their internet speeds a simple power cycle for this modem would instantly get the faster download speed
  • I ended up returning this modem because of the inadequate speeds achieved

Reviews around light (3.95 of 5)

  • The blue lights are not very bright which is a good thing as it is in my bedroom.
  • The lights are not super bright like on some Arris modems.*On/Off button on the back.*Two year warranty.*Best of all, no more $8 a month fee from TWC for their outdated modem
  • Anyway this is perfect the lights aren’t too annoying like other modems that have bad reviews
  • I ordered this within a few weeks of it's release because I couldn't stand the glaring lights of the Arris models
  • Really good modem and the LED lights on the front are not too bright which is a plus!

Reviews around internet (3.76 of 5)

  • and I assume it is the router, is that occasionally a user (of several users on the same network) will lose their internet
  • Our internet is so much faster than the rental modem we had from Cox plus no more monthly rental fees!
  • It took two months of unreliable internet to realize that the problem was this modem that did not detect when it had lost signal, and could not be detected by the ISP when it went into this state where all the lights indicated it was online, but it wasn't
  • Great product, my husband set it all up and the internet is fantastic, no complaints.
  • Purchased this one hoping our internet would get better and it worked great

Reviews around mac numb (2.75 of 5)

  • 300M down and 30M up... awesome.. all for the same price with a renewal
  • When they researched the MAC number from the unit, they discovered that IT WAS ALREADY IN USE by another account!!
  • OR the MAC number had been compromised somehow and used on a pirated modem to simulate the unit I received.
  • 300M down and 30M up... awesome.. all for the same price with a renewal
  • That only took a minute, it never asked for the MAC number or anything else, them BAM, it is online and running

Reviews around connection issue (2.18 of 5)

  • (Note that the NETGEAR CM600 24x8 Cable Modem DOCSIS 3.0 Max Download Speeds of 960Mbps) also provided better signals than the Arris, comparable but slightly less than the Motorola.)Bad: I have been having intermittent connection issues with Comcast Xfinity for about two months and was hoping it was solely a modem issue.

Reviews around power (1.80 of 5)

  • Prior to failing completely, I noticed that it powered off episodically
  • so the drop out does not appear to be the modem itself - the dirt cheap power supply seems to be the cause
  • I also measured the idle power consumption of the modem using a kill-a-watt device
  • Since it's within warranty, I'm contacting tech support, but I think I'm modem shopping again!Update: according to the tech support specialist, my issue is 'corrupted firmware' OR a bad power supply and the modem needs to be replaced.
  • After a quick hookup to the coaxial cable and powering it on, I called Time Warner technical support.

Reviews around ip (1.54 of 5)

  • After hours of IT buddy trying to set up discovered the IP sync issue, TWC no real help as their friendly service techs cannot reset IP and if you don't have a computer with a land connection you are stuck
  • I renewed my router's WAN IP just in case but received the same dynamic public IP from the cable modem (was not needed step)
  • This modem installed just fine with Comcast, however Comcast refused to issue a static IP using it, regardless of the router it is attached to
  • I need the performance of a hard wire network, and have many devices to deal with and had to configure the router to consume a static IP from this modem.
