So pulled plug and after verifying supported modem for their 400Mbps plan, and the great price for the Broadcom chip
I bought this cable modem because the price was right for the speed I need, and so far I'm not disappointed
This new modem is good to a top speed of 1000 mbps, which we'll never need, but, for the great price and future update (firmware and support) capabilities, this modem is a keeper for sure!5 stars all around!
Well worth the price and if you are renting a modem from your
Good modem, good price, very easy to install, Xfinity picked up the signal right away

Installation was easy: I hooked the cable feed to this and then called my Internet provider (xfinity) and had them activate the new hardware
Installation was an all-afternoon nightmare
First of all this is a great modem and installation is a breeze.
The installation was a breeze, it’s really just plug and play
Cable providers want you to rent theirs, a lame-o cheap model at a premium monthly charge, AND....they want to send that $100 technician out...try everything you

Cox told me the serial number is not one issued by Motorola and the serial number is not in the format for the MB7621.Cox then told me the signal was sent to the modem but the modem couldn't read it
No service issues, easy to connect to Comcast and internet speed are extremely fast.
No issues, cheaper than renting in long run.
Can technically support 1GB/s, but rated for up to their 600Mbps plan
Router works great no issue so far but when I activated with Comcast I was told this product is at end of life cycle and might have problems later on.

I was having random loss of internet after installing this and also a new TP-Link router, but the lights and signal on and from the router where constant and stable as they should be
Would have been an easy install, if you dint have to call COX to set it up as a unit
This modem was very easy install just plug and go and wow
Initial install was easy and this worked fine for the first couple of weeks.
At first the install did not work, but that was due some old filter that was in the cable box outside my home

I bought a Netgear modem first and had to return it because our internet would just stop working for 5-15 minutes...so annoying
Working for 5 minutes, dead for 10 minutes, working for 3 minutes, dead for 6 minutes, etc.
I got the modem and it was working great for like a day or two, but then the internet in my apartment just stopped working
My old Surfboard 6141 had seen its last and this one worked great right out of the box, but soon it would start dropping the internet connection a few times a week
I have COX for my internet and this cable modem works great with it.

The weak physical connection to the coaxial is something I can deal with, but the fact that it gets nowhere close to the advertised download speed for the specific provider is just blatant false advertising
After getting it set up with COX it worked as advertised, things per specs, then the next morning I went from 110Mbs to 10Mbs, lots of chat with COX, they too had slow speeds
So overall the product works as advertise, its just dealing with the IP/cable company the reason it isn't given 5 stars.
and he could not get this modem to work with their system, despite stating -- as advertised -- it works with their service.
I'm giving this just 1 star based on false advertising

However, the performance I saw was much worse than the older SB6141 with download speeds.
Cable providers want you to rent theirs, a lame-o cheap model at a premium monthly charge, AND....they want to send that $100 technician out...try everything you
Replaced my cable carrier’s modem for cost saving and better performance
Overall very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this modem to anybody that wants solid performance and doesn't want to be stuck paying a rental fee every month
Then I upgraded to 300Mbps and still didn't any better performance.

Upgraded my trusty old Motorola SB5100 that still works well and has lasted me well more than a decade

The Motorola was recommended by tech support from my cable company.

Slowly it began dropping internet numerous times a day, to the point where it drops internet at least 5-10 times a day and a hard reset requires a reconnect.
Slowly it began dropping internet numerous times a day, to the point where it drops internet at least 5-10 times a day and a hard reset requires a reconnect
By chance, Google suggested "hard reset" Apple Time Capsule and voilà
Can technically support 1GB/s, but rated for up to their 600Mbps plan
So the tech went back outside and found a bad connection on the house box, came back did a hard reset and it came to life

I told them that the label has a "CM MAC" number and I asked them if that was what they were looking for.
I called and gave them the mac number and two days later had a tech visit house as he had to run new cable from the street
After a wild goose chase of scouting around for some mysterious "MAC" number, I was unable to find any others they were looking for.
Works as
They come back on, only to then apologize and to tell me that the router label's "MC MAC" number was in fact the same as a "MAC" number that they were asking for to begin with.

(-/+ 5 minutes, the modem would loose its IP and my router behind it would report, "ISP DNS/DHCP configuration error".I travel and also remote office ( even prior to COVID-19)
Losing the IP, reboot....and repeat
I get about 650Mbps down which is my rated speed from Comcast after upgrading to this from an older one that maxed out around 250.During activation, make sure you connect directly to it from your pc and set your pc to dhcp if you are using a static IP.
