Since the Motorola Ultra Fast DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem, Model MB8600 had the newer DOCSIS 3.1 standard, I checked, and it was compatible with Comcast/Xfinity

so it was the cheapest DOCSIS 3.1 capable modem available on amazonfootnote:as of this review, i have only been running the hardware for a few hours, if things get wonky and they aren't provider issues, i'll update my comments to reflect any stability issues.

My old DOCSIS 3.0 (SB61210 modem started to suffer in the last 3 years of large amounts of speed issues during what I would consider 'normal' activities, VPN, plus a bunch of browser tabs, background downloads/uploads (cloud) etc

and it's priced cheaper than from what I can tell all other DOCSIS3.1s on the market currently and competitively priced versus DOCSIS3.0.

I was looking forward to using port bonding to bypass that limit (as advertised) only to be told by their support folks it isn't implemented, and they have no information when it will be.

I finally was given an RMA only to be told I would get another MB8600.I asked, "How does that address my problem exactly

Expensive and slow to boot, but it does work with comcast and gets over 900Mbps down.

This does not work with the COX or VERIZON they say it will! be careful!

It has been working perfectly... since I'm technical and kind of a DOCSIS nerd, I can tell you it's technicals are better than several other flawed modems and gateways (Intel Puma anyone?).

Intel PUMA 6 bugs have urged me to switch to another brand, however, when I installed this modem, it only goes up to 450Mbps down - which might be a Comcast configuration issue

It would not work without repeated, manual resets via the power supply.

I did read that the Arris SB8200 did have issues with running hot and rebooting several times and also required a hard reset
