Reviews around performance (5.00 of 5)

  • Performance could probably be improved by simply configuring the modem to bond fewer than 24 channels andavoiding problematic interference.
  • We purchased this Motorola MB8600 hoping it will give us better performance over our old modem.
  • However, wireless performance for my nVidia SHIELD K1 tablet and Google Pixel 2 phone were significantly improved - I found this a little odd as they're still going through a router, but, I can't argue with results
  • Easy setup, much improved performance over my old cable mode (about 33%

  • Motarolla was the better cable modem around but not any more the netgear or the aris is your better choice I promise you.
  • A solid cable modem that continues to work reliably day after day.
  • Need a great dedicated cable modem to compliment my Linksys WRT 3200ACM Router
  • This is definately a high quality and fast cable modem.

Reviews around docsis (4.48 of 5)

  • Motorola Ultra Fast DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem, Model MB8600, plus 32x8 DOCSIS 3.0
  • Since the Motorola Ultra Fast DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem, Model MB8600 had the newer DOCSIS 3.1 standard, I checked, and it was compatible with Comcast/Xfinity
  • so it was the cheapest DOCSIS 3.1 capable modem available on amazonfootnote:as of this review, i have only been running the hardware for a few hours, if things get wonky and they aren't provider issues, i'll update my comments to reflect any stability issues.
  • My old DOCSIS 3.0 (SB61210 modem started to suffer in the last 3 years of large amounts of speed issues during what I would consider 'normal' activities, VPN, plus a bunch of browser tabs, background downloads/uploads (cloud) etc
  • I just replaced the old modem (Motorola Surfboard SBG6580) with this modem, the Motorola MB8600 (Ultra fast DOCSIS 3.1).

  • Really enjoying this device and streaming has been so much easier now.
  • Device refused to power on
  • If you expect this device to support WiFi and ISP telephony directly, you are looking at the wrong device
  • There have been NO restarts or reboots with this mode, and the device is cool to the touch meaning there are no overheating issues

  • So far so goodHaven’t had any problems and don’t eed to rent one anymore
  • It works as expected and is from what I can tell an on par product to the other more expensive 3.1 modems

Reviews around product (3.99 of 5)

  • Excellent product, ease of use and great connection, love it
  • Not great but not nearly as bad as a garbage product like the netgear orbi.
  • The product gives you no guidance for how it is supposed to be used
  • and I didn't want to ding a good product because of a Comcast problem

Reviews around work (3.95 of 5)

  • Super good, no complaints after many months is working good.
  • Comcast of my new modem was easy to do on-line, and once the modem fully connected, everything has just worked
  • This made his work easier albeit a "Billing Code Issue" that halted my conversion from renting ANY more devices from Comcast
  • This works great no issues with the exception of setup

Reviews around price (3.87 of 5)

  • This product worked great and was a great price versus the other docsis 3.1 modems
  • and it's priced cheaper than from what I can tell all other DOCSIS3.1s on the market currently and competitively priced versus DOCSIS3.0.
  • This can support up to 32x4 (if I'm not mistaken).PROS:-DOCSIS 3.1 and 3.0-Runs cool.-Reliable, has not cut out yet like past Motorola ARRIS modems have for me.-32x4 channels.-Pretty simple setup (see cons for more details).-The future of modems, great investment at a better price than the Netgear and ARRIS branded 3.1 modems.-Comes with power cable, ethernet cable, velcro tie for cables, and a wrench to tighten the coax cable.-One time price, versus the monthly fee of renting one from your ISP-Standalone modem and not router/modem combo making it more reliable longterm.-AQM for lower latency, have yet to really notice this since I use all my devices over WIFI.-Supports bonded (two ethernet cables) connection to ISP if you are lucky enough to actually have Gigabit internet service
  • Be aware priceses are artifically low because zoom needs to sell volume to pay off its large debt before making any real profits.expect shortages and price increases
  • For my rating, I didn't lessen the score because I didn't like the price

Reviews around advertise (3.86 of 5)

  • no drops so far, work as advertised...had to get help from Comcast to get it
  • So far so goodHaven’t had any problems and don’t eed to rent one anymore
  • I was looking forward to using port bonding to bypass that limit (as advertised) only to be told by their support folks it isn't implemented, and they have no information when it will be.
  • Works absolutely as advertised for awhile, then at some point it’ll slow down to 45-50mbit/sec despite being on the gigabit plan and previously demonstrating that it is completely capable of pushing the gigabit speeds
  • In my case my modem at that point proceeded to update the firmware, and once it stabilized I then switched the ethernet cable to my router

Reviews around thing (3.44 of 5)

  • I think these things are a bit expensive given what they
  • This thing works excellent, had it for several months with no problems.
  • The most important thing I can recommend is to not get a modem with the Intel Puma 6 chipset
  • Funny thing is I don't see any improvement in speed over the old modem
  • I still love this thing, I just wish it was a bit more clear on the fact that you can only plug in 1 device into its 4 outputs

Reviews around connection (2.45 of 5)

  • The light on front, plus information on the Advanced | Connection page indicate it is connected using DOCSIS 3.1.
  • Connection lost when I hooked up the router, that took two hours.
  • My personal intuition suggests this experiment may possibly end my quest for a stable DOCSIS 3.1 connection.
  • After about 30 minutes of gaming, I lost internet connection
  • I did not buy this from Amazon, but also have connection issues like all the other negative reviews.

  • It has been working perfectly... since I'm technical and kind of a DOCSIS nerd, I can tell you it's technicals are better than several other flawed modems and gateways (Intel Puma anyone?).
  • Intel PUMA 6 bugs have urged me to switch to another brand, however, when I installed this modem, it only goes up to 450Mbps down - which might be a Comcast configuration issue
