Our internet speed had been increased but instead we were getting slower speeds and half the time no internet at all

I have 55 Mbps and the laptops in the house get that speed through the router just fine.

--I switched internet providers due to VERY slow speed, and decided to purchase a modem rather than paying monthly.

With this Motorola modem plus wifi router, the wireless speed drastically improved

The Cable Modem is on the 2nd floor of a 3 story home and we get a great Wi-Fi signal in all corners of the home

Great coverage for my 2,500 sf house; works perfectly well without even being located near the center of the house (my wife did not approve it!) ; several items using the WiFi, without any issues: two computers, one laptop, 2 cellphones, one tablet, two firesticks, an Apple TV box; at any time, at least 60% of all those items are working at the same time, with no apparent slow down, in the real life, not measured with any type of equipment, that of course would show that there are too many pieces of equipment using the available bandwidth at the same time, but again, not noticeable slow down in the daily life

Poor range, drops signal all the time, Hulu isn't working, I have had a professional IT friend change settings to try and help, still crap

The wifi range with this unit is comparable, if not worse, than our old cable company modem/router.

Problems started with sporadic "ranging" issues that would not allow the modem to connect to the internet

If you have devices which don't support 5G or the AC wireless standard then this is not for you at all

I called Motorola tech support, and the friendly support person would only say yes performance on 2.4 GHZ will be worse than that on 5 GHZ, with not admission that these problems indicated a defective router

Bought this because of reviews, and the modem may be great but the router is weak (or is it the other way around).

Great router, easy to setup and works with my Cox service and fixed my slow connection issues I had with an older router it replaced.

I didnt want to mess with seperate modem and router, figuring that the way technology prices fall, if either component of this one dies down the road, i can get a newer version for just as little.

Unfortunately for me, COX does not support this particular version of the MG product line
