Reviews around installation (5.00 of 5)

  • Very easy installation with no customer support required.
  • I already made the installation, easy installation, one call phone to my cable service company all set
  • It was the smoothest installation I did in 25 years of using PCs and networks.
  • Pretty impressive since most of the products that claim easy installation fail to be setup properly since they can't even load the initial web page correctly

Reviews around setup (4.74 of 5)

  • Setup was easy, Router admin software is very good...completely satisfied
  • Setup was easy and it appears to be a bit faster than the old one
  • Very easy setup, and works perfectly with Comcast Xfinity
  • I have had no issues and setup was almost mindless; plug and play essentially.
  • The setup is easy and takes about 5-10 minutes for the basic configuration

Reviews around price (4.68 of 5)

  • The combo unit by Motorola has been clearly the best choice and was also the best price.
  • came as promised, fair price and works like we need it to. satisfactory purchase
  • If you want no hassle set-up, fast speed and a decent price, get this.
  • I tested several cable modem routes without voip phone and this Motorola by far was the best priced and the best performer.
  • (have had it for about 1.5 months so far)Easy to set up, price was reasonable

Reviews around work (4.51 of 5)

  • The Product seems to be working well, but the instructions were lacking
  • The 5G WiFi worked great (not many people use 5Ghz WiFi, so lots of open channels), but since I have an older Ring doorbell i needed to use 2.4 Ghz.
  • The keep losing the connection and work intermittently.
  • More expensive (?) but works.
  • My internet works very well with no dropouts or disconnects

Reviews around quality (4.16 of 5)

  • We are getting a much better quality signal and fewer refresh times
  • poor Quality
  • Good quality but wished the range was better being that I am in a townhouse
  • I am extremely disappointed in Motorola as I thought their quality was much better.
  • Motorola Router/Gateway does get a signal to my room just not good enough quality to be connected

Reviews around speed (4.00 of 5)

  • Great option for upgrading from aproved internet service providers rental modem routers better range dual-band option much better traffic control helps with even slower speed service for youre devices
  • Our internet speed had been increased but instead we were getting slower speeds and half the time no internet at all
  • I have 55 Mbps and the laptops in the house get that speed through the router just fine.
  • --I switched internet providers due to VERY slow speed, and decided to purchase a modem rather than paying monthly.
  • With this Motorola modem plus wifi router, the wireless speed drastically improved

Reviews around signal (3.71 of 5)

  • Will need to buy a WiFi extender to get a better signal
  • easy to set up; strong signal to any parts of the house; better than I one I returned to Optimum
  • The Cable Modem is on the 2nd floor of a 3 story home and we get a great Wi-Fi signal in all corners of the home
  • The wireless signal has been degrading since I purchased the device, but tonight has pushed me to the point where I'm going to exercise the protection plan I purchased for it
  • Can't get a strong WIFI signal unless in the same room as the modem.

Reviews around wifi (3.57 of 5)

  • Great coverage for my 2,500 sf house; works perfectly well without even being located near the center of the house (my wife did not approve it!) ; several items using the WiFi, without any issues: two computers, one laptop, 2 cellphones, one tablet, two firesticks, an Apple TV box; at any time, at least 60% of all those items are working at the same time, with no apparent slow down, in the real life, not measured with any type of equipment, that of course would show that there are too many pieces of equipment using the available bandwidth at the same time, but again, not noticeable slow down in the daily life
  • Even when placed in the center of the house, the wifi's loses 50% of its strength between floors
  • The 5G wifi is very fast and has a decent range as well (I live in an apartment, can't say how good it is for a house)
  • The 5G WiFi worked great (not many people use 5Ghz WiFi, so lots of open channels), but since I have an older Ring doorbell i needed to use 2.4 Ghz.

Reviews around internet (3.55 of 5)

  • Better and faster internet than the regular Comcast modem/ router
  • I was cheap and got the cheaper version but internet was slow AF
  • My internet works very well with no dropouts or disconnects
  • but l lose internet connectivity for about 5 seconds 6 or 7 times in a hour.
  • I have poor internet connection in my home, so, it doesn't really matter what I have, riight?

Reviews around range (3.50 of 5)

  • Poor range, drops signal all the time, Hulu isn't working, I have had a professional IT friend change settings to try and help, still crap
  • The wifi range with this unit is comparable, if not worse, than our old cable company modem/router.
  • Problems started with sporadic "ranging" issues that would not allow the modem to connect to the internet
  • If you have devices which don't support 5G or the AC wireless standard then this is not for you at all
  • Reception pattern appears omnidirectional when placed this way with good range

Reviews around router (3.49 of 5)

  • I called Motorola tech support, and the friendly support person would only say yes performance on 2.4 GHZ will be worse than that on 5 GHZ, with not admission that these problems indicated a defective router
  • I must say I bought the best wireless modem router in the market.
  • Bought this because of reviews, and the modem may be great but the router is weak (or is it the other way around).
  • Easy to set up and works well as wireless router and modem
  • The cheapest modem/ router on Amazon, I though I got a great deal

Reviews around connection (2.50 of 5)

  • The keep losing the connection and work intermittently.
  • Easy to get started with, great connection speeds, and reliable wifi signal all through our apartment
  • broadcasts to channels not being used to try to get a better connection
  • easy hook up, but has been losing connection occasionally , see how it goes for now
  • Great router, easy to setup and works with my Cox service and fixed my slow connection issues I had with an older router it replaced.

Reviews around version (1.00 of 5)

  • I was cheap and got the cheaper version but internet was slow AF
  • I didnt want to mess with seperate modem and router, figuring that the way technology prices fall, if either component of this one dies down the road, i can get a newer version for just as little.
  • Unfortunately for me, COX does not support this particular version of the MG product line
