Reviews around price (5.00 of 5)

  • Definitely worth the price along with the added satisfaction of not paying to "rent" the providers modem/router.
  • It was delivered promptly for a competitive price, and installed easily.
  • Works great, good price and easy to install although you do have to go through your provider to activate
  • They are close in function but a bit of a downer, especially for the much greater price!!
  • I really liked the this product for the features noted, the convenience of the combo (Cable Modem/ Router), and price was reasonable for the options

Reviews around coverage (4.46 of 5)

  • Works great, great coverage in the house and fast wireless!
  • 5G works well near the modem/router, but in our bedroom about 40-50 feet away, I do not have much of a signal
  • Its not working well especially 5G. sounds like the router is defective.
  • Saw improved speed & household coverage over the previous router.

Reviews around range (4.41 of 5)

  • so far it has a better range than my previous comcast cisco router
  • Works great, much better range and speed then the modem/Wi-Fi unit it replaced
  • The bad: The wireless range was quite poor and it was constantly disconnecting... and all of this in a small apartment
  • I think I was a victim of a "bait-n-switch" on this wireless router/modem
  • The Motorola has better range and my wireless speed has improved.

Reviews around product (4.25 of 5)

  • This product had a problem that I did not recognize until April 14-20-17 when I called my service for internet and my computer repair service
  • Excellent, faster up and down, easy change over with provider, a sweet product.
  • Since its my equipment, Comcast wouldn't support the product.
  • I changed all the router settings, called Motorola, changed more settings, restarted the product, cleared my browser history and cache, dumped my computer laptop wifi settings, etc, etc, etc
  • This is an expensive product, but it's an excellent high end product

Reviews around wifi (4.08 of 5)

  • it would disappear from my list of available WiFi networks
  • Everything was great for 2 days then the 5G wifi stopped working
  • Wifi is great, handles our 9+ devices on the network with no problem.
  • I will update this if I find any reliability issue such as WiFi
  • - however, I never saw those speeds over my wireless network - I was getting 40-50mbps and just thought it was "normal" to just have slower wifi speeds -

Reviews around motorola (4.07 of 5)

  • I complained to Motorola and they were useless, blaming interference, time of day and suggesting I plan with the channels, which I did to no avail.
  • received with a defected power cable, but I used my old Motorola cable and works.
  • This Motorola is very good in many other areas like port forwarding.
  • If Motorola can solve the above issues, it will be a good purchase but until then it's sub-par.
  • Motorola makes good Wi-Fi routers how complaint here:-)

Reviews around speed (3.93 of 5)

  • I updated my internet speed from 20Mbps to 50Mbps and found I needed a new modem to get the faster speeds.
  • No disconnections, super fast speed, and great connection range.
  • Only had one problem now since having it for a month was speed was a little slow had to reset it and everything is fine
  • Then at 6 months I was having very slow speeds intermittently for a few hours at a time even when wired
  • Our speed is better and does not disconnect like our old router

Reviews around work (3.93 of 5)

  • I did some research on what to buy and luckily this unit works great for my needs
  • Since the old one worked fairly well, and a previous upgrade failed, we were concerned about trying another.
  • I've had countless types of WiFi routers in my house, and even the one that came with Comcast worked well
  • Started out working great, now my speeds have slowed down drastically, had a technician come to check it out
  • This has been working great with my Comcast Xfinity internet

Reviews around unit (3.90 of 5)

  • Unit worked good for a few weeks, then constantly crashed
  • Picked up a unit from xfinity and working great so far.
  • THIS PRODUCT, unit stopped working after 5 months, called RCN , tech found unit bad, called Motorola at 1-617-753-0562 and they will not help , they instructed me to reconnect the unit to RCN, unit is broken, Motorola refused to accept the warranty otherwise, there is still more than one year left on the warranty.
  • I may have just received a bad unit, but this on top of terrible online troubleshooting and customer support is enough to make me avoid this product all together
  • This unit is super easy to setup and very easy to configure and understand.

Reviews around router (3.88 of 5)

  • I would highly recommend this router if you are looking for an upgrade over a rental from comcast
  • when the router works it seems to work as it's supposed
  • do your self a favor, by a good modem and separate router.
  • After testing at 180M, it hit me that using the router as middleman in my system was killing my bandwidth
  • On it’s worst day, this router works at least as well as our old Comcast rental did on its best day

Reviews around signal (3.83 of 5)

  • , my MG7550 now provides a consistently strong signal in both frequencies throughout the entire house
  • Large 2-story house and my wireless devices are picking up the signal no problem.
  • and it's been working flawless with an amazing strong signal.
  • It's in the basement of our 3 story house, but the signal is strong even on the 3rd floor.
  • It was easy to set up and the signal is strong throughout the house, which is fairly big, and even reaches well out into the yard

  • So...if you have a problem connecting devices through your new Motorola MG7550 don't bother calling Motorola support...you'll just get some hubristic a@#$%*e who looks down his big at anyone who isn't a full-blown techie!UPDATE:
  • I've installed at least 3 different setups over the years and this is by far, the fastest and simplest I've ever dealt with
  • We don’t experience any of the connectivity issues we did before
  • I just moved and had to transition from Fios internet to Spectrum (best available in the area) and the modem they supplied was subpar for someone who uses the internet as much as I as well as my family do
  • Since I just got this unit today, I can't speak for it's reliability or connectivity issues, if any

  • I've had countless types of WiFi routers in my house, and even the one that came with Comcast worked well

Reviews around spot (1.29 of 5)

  • After installing my Motorola MG7550, I have no more dead spots and my printer has FULL bars
  • I'm a Comcast Xfinity customer, and was fed up with dead spots in my house and dealing with "range extenders" which never worked that well.
  • I had to add a bridged repeaters to cover dead spots in the house, but those are no longer needed
  • Never goes off-line either and you can set up 2.4/5 ghz as well as guest hot spots on each
  • The 2.4gz band is very strong throughout (and in my garage and down my driveway) while the 5gz has some dead spots (mostly behind my masonry chimney).
