  • All in all these are great 2-way radios at a great price.
  • I have had to replace about 6 so far, but the price is good for the value we get out of them
  • Had to buy another at a steep price
  • They were shipped in two days, the price was great and the product is worth every penny.

Reviews around sound (4.38 of 5)

  • The only complaint I have is for the ear pieces: the sound gets scrambled unless you're 5 feet apart and essentially become useless after 100 yards or so
  • The sound on them is very clear & like that it has covers for all of the holes, since I sometimes work around water.
  • Otherwise good product, good battery life, fairly ok sound
  • They worked excellent, clear sound with great reception.
  • Good radios with cool accessories above average battery life clear sound

Reviews around feature (4.28 of 5)

  • They are simple enough to pick up and use but have a lot of features and cool things about them, also love the weatherproof feature
  • unexpectedly). But the features outweigh any negatives for me.
  • love the weatherproof feature, we work outside in all sorts of weather.
  • I really like the rugged weatherproof design and features, as well as the weather alert feature, emergency alert button, etc.
  • Summary:As far as features are concerned, there is not much difference between them.

Reviews around way (4.26 of 5)

  • I would give them 5 stars but it is frustrating that there is no way to repair the radios once they have failed
  • They are a great way to communicate on board since you don't have cellphone service or wifi
  • However don't buy these "35-mile" walkies thinking you're going to talk to your buddy in a neighboring town... it doesn't work that way, and non-radio people like me often don't know that
  • Had two cars and figured this would be a good way to communicate
  • Didn't work out of the box (with both units on same channel could only transmit one-way).

Reviews around work (4.20 of 5)

  • The radios worked well, not real crazy about the chargers.
  • Does not work one unit doesn't even turn on change batteries still does not work returning not happy
  • These radios worked in the city fairly well, within about a 1-mile radius.
  • The second works great, and both radios work great with normal AA batteries in them
  • The radios work well without an earpiece - good range in a city, water resistant, and acceptable battery life

Reviews around quality (4.05 of 5)

  • Sound quality was very poor, was purchased for event production but gave up with this system and used phone instead
  • Do not waste your money on these, the sound quality at any range is horrible and the range isn't even that good
  • Do not waste your money on these, the sound quality at any range is horrible and the range isn't even that good

Reviews around unit (3.81 of 5)

  • These units are good but I will be getting something that holds up to water a little better
  • I have received RMAs for the two failed units, but was told I would not receive another because I was using the radio improperly by leaving it turned-on all day.
  • Does not work one unit doesn't even turn on change batteries still does not work returning not happy
  • These units are quite large compared to some of the other models available.
  • Ultimately returned them because 1/3 units was defective and would not transmit or receive messages.

  • Unable to use for in theme park & bad reception in shopping mall
  • They have good distance reception, easy to use and charge
  • I tried using this in a space no further than 50 ft and the reception is terrible
  • The build quality is poor and the reception is poor after about 1/4 mile.

Reviews around water resistance (2.54 of 5)

  • I like all the features and the one I like best is the dust and water resistance.
  • and I'm sure, as well as they've worked here at home, that they will work great for that too
  • I like the rechargeable battery pack, the water resistance (not water proof) and the availability of weather with a few button pushes.
  • With regard to the Motorola brands, the more your pay generally equals more water resistance and more range.
  • Worked great on our cruise as well as from the boat to the multiple beaches we ventured to.

Reviews around plastic (2.54 of 5)

  • good as I expectedRead more
  • Don't be fooled - every inch of these is light weight, cheap plastic.
  • Worked great on our cruise as well as from the boat to the multiple beaches we ventured to.
  • and I'm sure, as well as they've worked here at home, that they will work great for that too
  • Too many knobs and buttons housed in a more rigid flimsy plastic case

Reviews around terrain (2.28 of 5)

  • However they do not get the kind of range you might expect if there is rough terrain around.
  • and I'm sure, as well as they've worked here at home, that they will work great for that too
  • Worked great on our cruise as well as from the boat to the multiple beaches we ventured to.
  • Make sure to use the high frequency button whenever you are dealing with uneven terrain or thick brush/trees or the reception with be pretty fuzzy.

Reviews around noise (1.69 of 5)

  • It sometimes makes this very high pitch and loud noise in your ear when you turn it on
  • , it will not stay on the desired channel, it seems the chip inside has something wrong with it, weird noises when you try to transmit, radio freezes up constantly.
  • good as I expectedRead more
  • The conversations were clear & never any hiss noise when on.
  • Most of the ship no hiss noise when in a conversation, but did experience a little through 9 story's of steel & accross the ship, next to the ships radar.

Reviews around clip (1.65 of 5)

  • Also, I would not trust the plastic clips that come with the radio
  • Again, since I store them in a bag, it hasn't been a real issue for me and doesn't detract from the overall quality of the radios (which is very good), but it would have been nice if it came with sturdier clips.
  • the clips that come with it are completely flimsy and broke within a week, we bought new ones and put them on ourselves and it seemed okay
  • so the radios fall off or we lose the clips all together
  • My biggest complaint is that the clips on them are terrible.

Reviews around couple (1.00 of 5)

  • May have been dropped a couple of times but nothing broke
  • After hitting a couple ski hills where our phones didn't work (no cell coverage), I picked these up for the family.
  • That first run was our easy warm up run and she never had a hard fall and only skidded onto her bottom a couple of times when she lost her back heel edge
  • a lot.if you use the headset with it you have to say "one two three" then continue speaking - otherwise your first couple of words will be missed
  • If I were to suggest some improvements for Motorola, I'd say that the ergonomics could be improved (these units don't feel as good in the hand as my old Uniden radios), and work with third party vendors to make high quality plugin headsets/mics, as the couple that I've tried thus far have been a disappointment on Motorola Talkabout radios.

Reviews around belt (1.00 of 5)

  • So now I am left with one kick ass radio, two belt clips that I will never trust again, and three questions:1
  • Dinged them a star for the cheap belt clips, which broke after about a week.
  • but I do find the two methods of transport (belt-clip or no belt-clip) a bit lacking and either a more sturdy carry case or a way to lockout the transmit buttons while in transport would be nice

Reviews around foot (1.00 of 5)

  • Around town they don't work very well maybe 100 feet on a good day
  • Otherwise about 1000 feet is the limit for clear communication.
