The mount is very secure and easy to install.

This allowed the holder to be mounted right of the shifter and even missing a tab it still holds firm.

I used to love this phone mount so much and then occasionally it would fall off of the dash causing me to have to readjust the angle, which, ok no problem

The mount falls off the windshield when my car is left in the sun and because of the design, you'll need a windshield cover that goes over the outside of your car to prevent that

I would think this would work great as a dash mount since the gel material will not be directly exposed to UV Sunlight.
