We always put the carafe back (fully dry) on the warming plate after it had cooled down...and it is totally shot after only 5 months?

Got this same pot from a local store as a replacement... warmer plate burns the coffee... coffee is brewed fast, and tastes fine, but you have to turn it off right after brewing the coffee to prevent burning.

Also, don't let water drip onto the warmer plate as it will bubble up the coating the first day.

The bubbling of the water is loud, but especially if you take the pot away to pour a cup and then put it back, whatever drops have spilled on the hot plate surface then sizzle very loudly until they eventually evaporate away, which can be several minutes

By Day 5 of use, if the carafe isn't lined up perfectly, coffee will leak down the outside of the carafe and burn on the warming plate while coffee is brewing
