Mr. Coffee 5-Cup Coffee Maker, Black (4 Cup-White)

    • I'm glad they offered this at a good price because I broke the carafe on my last Mr. Coffee machine.
    • I had the black version for years until I broke the glass carafe
    • The carafe is easy to clean with a bottle brush.
    • Broke the carafe of the first Mr. Coffee and you might as well toss the unit because the replacements are expensive.
    • This maker has a feature that lets you remove the carafe while it is brewing to pour a quick cup of joe (while I don't recommend doing that, it is an option if you must).
    • I had my old one since 1998 and it was great until I broke the carafe.
    • leaks doesn't stay hot carafe has to be tipped to ensure brewed coffee does not pool in filter
    • This is the second one for me, only because I broke the glass carafe, it was easier just to recycle the old one and buy another as they are so reasonably priced.
    • leaks doesn't stay hot carafe has to be tipped to ensure brewed coffee does not pool in filter
    • [ many clones of Mr Coffee produce very hot water and scorch the beans]Perfect for 2 mugs of coffee per carafe, each 'cup' is 5 oz onlyThis model came with a plastic reusable filter, in all my prior models, you bought that separateSmall form, doesn't use much counter spaceConsLasts about 8-10 years, it can be made to last longernot auto shut off: if you forget it and the coffee evaporates fully, the hot plate may crack, and the carafe will be very hard to cleanShort plug cordWhat I do to prevent burnt coffee is after a brew I place the excess coffee in a thermos and turn Mr Coffee off, and unplug it.
    • Get ready to forget and burn your carafe etc
    • I, however, do not like the carafe because the opening is too small for my hand to get in there & clean it.
    • My sister accidentally broke the carafe of the coffee pot she keeps in her classroom
    • and I then broke the carafe for a small (but different design
    • Only thing I would caution anyone about is to use one of those long handle sponges to clean the carafe/
    • Carafe is sturdy
    • The old unit still works like it's brand new, but I broke the glass carafe
    • Got it to replace a broken carafe, the proper replacement carafe is unavailable
    • I had a 4 cup Mr. Coffee before and broke the carafe after many years
    • And, when I have a full, fresh carafe, there's a very narrow range of pour rate that does not cause a drip-back onto the counter; I'm still as likely to spill onto the counter, as not.
    • I like the glass carafe that cleans up nicely and doesn't stain, yet still is lightweight (most these days are plastic)
    • Lasts for years, or, until you break the carafe
    • As a suggestion for cleaning the glass carafe, I use a wet small piece of Mr. Cleaner Sponge to remove the coffee stain that will build up in time., avoiding having to use vinegar
    • This newer Mr. Coffee 4 cup model looks nice and does work fine but its carafe is inferior to the old DR5-4 model's
    • I finally broke the carafe.
    • This morning, I dropped the carafe and it shattered all over my floor
    • The carafe got broken in a move
    • However, the carafe is terrible
    • My last 4 cup coffee maker lasted 20 years and, I calculate, brewed over 15,000 pots until I broke the carafe and couldn't replace it
    • But this carafe must be defective in the glass spout part because you cannot pour without it spilling
    • Just as good as I knew it would be
    • Have no complains as of yet, its a 4 cup coffee maker n so far it works n heats my coffee
    • I spent a lot more for two other machines and this coffee is as good as those made.
    • Have had it over a month, and it works as if I had just taken it out of the box.
    • But I cannot complain as it is cheap.
    • Coffee tastes just as good as if it had come from a fancier single cup maker
    • I always get this one, somehow I break them a
    • It tastes just as good as if I bought it daily at a coffee shop and is a fraction of the cost.
