The pot leaked at the top of stainless steel part when you poured coffee.
The coffee doesn’t taste burnt because it is brewed into the stainless steel pot.
The inner surface is brushed stainless steel and it stains with time leaving a perpetual stale coffee scent
The stainless steel thermal carafe on the other hand is a horror
I've never submerged this coffee carafe, yet it began to leak around the seam between the black plastic & the stainless steel ... just sitting on the plate, whenever the coffee would brew.
This coffeemaker has several features my previous one lacked: water filter, removable coffee basket, and a warmer that turns itself off after two hours (no more bitter, burned coffee)
And this pot doesn't have a "strong" brew button to slow down the brewing process, a feature that many other Mr. Coffee pots have
My favorite feature is that the water reservoir is removable for easy cleaning
One nice feature is that it shows how long its been since you brewed your last pot of coffee, so you know the status of the coffee in the pot
The coffee grounds basket is also removable which is a nice feature
I am a big coffee drinker and so I have to love my coffee pot
It has never leaked all over the counter which makes it a great coffee pot
The coffee was ground the same size as initial pot, but for some reason did not drain into the carafe pot and poured out of the basket and all over the place
Of course I followed the instructions for first use and my first pot of coffee was gross
And for some strange reason every once in a while the pot has the coffee extremely weak
Unfortunately, this machine is a disaster and I can't recommend it to anyone.
As a result of not having the heating element going all of the time and drinking all of the coffee that we brew, we expect that this coffee maker is saving us money versus our previous more dangerous machine.
This machine is less expensive to use by having regular ground coffee instead of the pricey K-cups
This coffee seems just as good as with our slower machine, so they must have something with their claim to have hit the right temperature for the brew to enable them to do it faster
Sleek machine, easy to use, no problems, and makes good coffee
There are some great things about this coffee pot, but do not buy if you want (a) strong coffee or (b) to not have to clean up the counter every other day
The handful of days we were actually able to USE this coffeemaker, it brewed a poor cup of coffee; we grind our own beans every morning, and use bottled water to help brew the ideal cup
Being in a caraffe it does not burn and you can even heat the coffee up in the microwave and its as good as it was when first brewed.
We grind our beans fresh each morning because we like the taste of good, strong coffee.

The carafe fits snug into the housing, and prevents as good as it can to prevent any heat loss for the coffee dripping into it
The lid of the carafe could use some revamping to make it easier to clean as I have concerns about what could grow in it over

After 3 months of loving the coffee machine, the entire thing leaks

We used it only for a week and already the dipsticks (look like clear acrylic sticks which are suppose to turn dark color to indicate coffee level) turned ugly brown with coffee stain.

Added Mar 1, 16 - The Brew Meter "level indicator" never worked in the beginning and gotten worse since sticks are darkened with coffee stain.
The water reservoir is easy to clean as it comes off in a single unit to carry to the sink for a good, soapy wash.

There seems to be an inherent design flaw if you ever try to brew more than 8 cups of coffee.
Then our plastic lever broke which allows the coffee to flow through the filter and into the carafe
The top to the water reservoir is cheap plastic and not as well designed or sturdy as the rest of the coffee maker*
concerns.1) Like many commented, the water reservoir did have a strong plastic smell, so I went ahead and did a vinegar cleaning before use, and two more clean water rinses.
When you receive yours, it will smell like plastic and the first pot you brew will taste like plastic
What I don't like is the strong, unpleasant plastic taste I got from the first dozen or so
The next one worked for several months but now the display is so dim it's difficult to see.

Even after clicking the button to change the setting, the display is not readable.
Coffee maker worked well for about 7 months but recently the LED display/clock is very dim to the point we can hardly see the time anymore

The only complaint I have is when the coffee is finish brewing it gives off a loud beep noise to let you know it is done
This one has a shrill beep that was activated this am when i was woken up at 5 am and in NO MOOD
It signals with 3 loud beeps when it is finished brewing and when it has been on for 2 hours.
Personally the amount of steam seems minimal--"coffee ready beep too loud"
Put the 4 cups of vinegar as suggested and within 10 mins of the 45 minute cycle started to make a loud beeping noise that would not go away unless unplugged from the wall
Beeps when finished making coffee, coffee grinds do not spill into base of container compartment
Tried all the suggestions about coffee grinds and using filters but did not help.
So take your chances if you like b/c this seems to happen sporadically so maybe you'll get lucky.
Attempted to clean the inside of the unit where the tray rests to ensure there weren't coffee grinds clogging the spout to the coffee pot, but this did not resolve it
Trying to brew the largest amount will cause coffee grinds to flow out of the basket, thus getting grinds into the areas were the coffee is released to the carafe.

From the Manufacturer
There may be several reasons for coffee not to stay warm: Some units have an automatic shut-off feature
This is a safety feature that would automatically shut off your coffeemaker after 1-4 hours, depending on the model
Make sure that the unit hasn't been running longer than this time
The unit may require cleaning to remove mineral deposits that build up over time and cause coffee to brew cooler than normal
If your unit has a thermal decanter, make sure that it is clean and that the lid is kept closed
The thermal decanter should keep coffee warm for 2 to 4 hours after brewing.
