And the scratch on the handle of the carafe does not affect the product in any way

It's a Great Looking Machine, I just wish the coffee was hotter

The new coffee maker is not only leaking from the bottom, but now an alarm is going off and the machine is UNUSABLE

But overall, this machine makes good coffee at a good price with some nice specs not available on most comparable models.

The other issue is that the machine brews so fast that additional coffee must be used to avoid a weak brew.

Our second was that it made very weak coffee (probably related to its speed).We tried using a combination of metal and paper filters to slow down the brewing, and it did help some - raising the brew quality to "acceptable"

Over the last 4 years this is my 3rd Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew pot

The brewing is great, though (right temperature, speed, etc), so if you have soft water or brew coffee with distilled water, then this is the pot for you.

The good news is when the screaming alarm stops and the whole house wakes up (including the dog) they will have great hot coffee waiting for them

With those 2 pieces floating around in the reservoir, the coffee maker emits a shrill sounding alarm of some kind, and will not work.

: All a coffee lover wants to do is have a great cup of coffee to test out their new machine, but when it smells and tastes like toxic plastic, even after doing the recommended first pot of water and cleaning, the novelty of the purchase wears off

When I was preparing the new machine to make coffee there was a strong chemical/plastic odor that I was not happy about - and almost sent it back.

Of note is that the machine will let you know when it is time to clean, and will not make coffee, as far as I can tell, until cleaned.

Has a terrible plastic TOXIC smell that will not go away.

No issue after you break it in to get rid of those terrible plastic smells (10+ cycles of water at least)

I tried grinding my own beans, and that resulted in a very good cup of coffee but a terrible mess with ground everywhere (yes, the water filter was in place and correctly mounted).

I was somewhat surprised by all the negative reviews for just about everything else (including this model)

I had read all the reviews about leaking, weak coffee, etc, but trust me

Some of the negative reviews for this one made me hesitant to buy it

Most reviews of this machine are positive and accurately portray the performance of the coffee maker.

Minor problems included the design of the carafe (the lid is easy enough to unscrew, but it is less convenient than a glass carafe for gauging the amount of coffee remaining), and the fact that there is a beeping signal to indicate the end of the brewing cycle - it sounds like a subdued fire alarm which is a bit disturbing, and there doesn't appear to be a way to turn it off (though you can press a button to brighten or dim the clock display

Carafe keeps the coffee hot for at least 2 hours, and the lid is easy to remove and tighten.

Just a little annoyance when I remove the grounds each day, having to open a useless lid to the basket.

Improve the lid to allow for faster flow and better seal after coffee is madeI would guess that my suggestions would raise the price quite a bit.

The design flaw is that some more sophisticated brewers have a screen in that area to prevent the nipple from clogging

but I do have an issue where if you make 10 cups, the coffee grinds are in the coffee

Had to get used to this new machine, Makes the coffee quicker and adding the coffee grinds and water is much easier.

It does have this filters which go on top of the bin where the coffee grinds go.

Had it 4 months and the delay start won’t work anymore.

The clock is so dim, I can't read the time anymore, which isn't a big deal unless you're trying to set delay brew!
