Using a good bean roasted correctly and ground fresh will give you a great cup in less than 5 minutes

If you wait too long to due a cleaning your coffee maker will poop out due to hard water deposits build up.

Of note is that the machine will let you know when it is time to clean, and will not make coffee, as far as I can tell, until cleaned.
