Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew 10-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker System, BVMC-PSTX91-RB

    • Quick brew and coffee stays warm in thermal carafe
    • ~ Super fast brew and thermos keeps it hot hot hot
    • Pros: Quiet brewing process, easy to clean and maintain, love the thermal carafe - coffee stays hot for hours, coffee seemed weak at first - added an extra tablespoon and now it tastes perfect.
    • The result is that I get a lovely smell while brewing and a disappointing cup after I pour with no complex flavors - I think this probably has to do with the fact that 6 cups takes about 3 minutes to brew
    • I make the perfect brew!
    • also if you overfill your filter in the grounds cup, wanting a stronger brew, the grounds tend to overflow and get in the carafe
    • It fits in place OK, just that holding the last of the water that can't be siphoned out when brewing is an engineering glitch
    • Mr. Coffee BVMC-PSTX95 10 Cup Optimal Brew Thermal Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel reviewAfter using this purchase for about a week, I am reluctantly satisfied
    • The timer function has never failed and I love waking up to fresh brewed coffee in the morning
    • Less than 1 week after using the coffee pot, it started leaking hot brewed coffee all over the counter top when it was only half completel in the brewing cycle
    • We don't notice any difference in flavor due to the hotter brewing water temperature.
    • The thermos keeps the coffee hot for longer than the "fresh-brew" timer indicates (2 hours).
    • but I believe I would purchase another Optimal brew when this one fails.
    • Pros: Great taste, very quick brewing if cleaned regularly, relatively quiet
    • I chose the Optimal Brew.
    • The optimal brew temperature is not a gimic.
    • The coffee is nice and hot when brewed, and remains hot in the insulated carafe for a very long time
    • Quick hot brew!
    • The clock will deliver your brew, ready, waiting and hot for when you wake up
    • This machine is a superior machine with more conveniences and hotter brewing temperatures.
    • Easy to use, fast brewing
    • Quickly turning POS.Pros:Water tank is handy2 hour display highlight after brew is nice
    • I wish it was 12-cup, rather than 10, and it could heat the coffee just a bit warmer when brewing.
    • the temperature gets to an optimal brew, that allows the flavors to extract from the coffee to perfection
    • That gets it in the 200-205 temp range for good brewing
    • It filters the water , it's fast brewing , and it's hot and stays hot
    • This replaced my Cuisinart that would clog up and overflow all over my counter top along with the clock and delayed brew function that broke after 6 months
    • WITH YOUR NICE, CLEAN BREW, AND MAKING
    • But what’s best is this dude is fast — something like four minutes brew time
    • I have had several coffeemakers in the last 6 years, including a 12 cup grind and brew (Cuisinart), a small electric moka pot (DeLonghi), a dual coffemaker & espresso machine (Krups), a Keurig, and an Aeropress
    • It is easy to use, seems to get the water hot enough for a good brew although I have not tested the temp of the water
    • Coffee is not hot when first brewed and doesn't stay warm that long.
    • the clock is terrible, inability to change the time and inability to delayed brew
    • Super fast brew, perfect temperature.
    • Sometimes the machine leaks hot coffee everywhere when brewing
    • For everything else there's the pourover, aeropress, and fridge made cold brew
    • so you wake to the smell of fresh brewed coffee
    • The coffee pot was as advertized - keeps coffee hot for hours and brewed just right.
    • I stopped the brew and I cleaned up
    • We Love this machine and how the coffee brews and tastes
    • Has all the features I wanted except "strong brew."
    • Fast Brew
    • It brews very hot, extracting the oils in an efficient manner to make a fast but bold brew
    • This is a well-designed coffee maker and the programmable brew, removable reservoir, and thermal carafe were great features.
    • While some drip coffee makers have adjustment for strength of brew, this one doesn’t and the brew is weak unless you nearly double the amount of coffee usedThe design also requires that you remove the coffee basket to fill it (the cover containing the filter opens in such a way that it can't be done with the basket holder in the machine)
    • This is hands-down, the best at delivering hot, well brewed, pot of coffee on the market
    • We'd rather have bought eithe of our prior coffeemakers again---this was harder to use than a finicky grind and brew, and the quality of coffee was no better (and perhaps on average worse) than the $20 model.
    • However, the coffee is not very hot - even when first brewed.
    • The carafe kept the brew warm for several hours without spoiling the taste
    • After that the fall off on temp starts to become more apparent, however this brews quickly and is easy to use so we can just make a fresh pot then
    • For as many buttons are on this thing, the brewing, delay brew functions, and kitchen clock are very self explanatory and very simple
    • Just read the book and follow the instructions to the letter, and you'll get a perfect brewing machine! The coffee pot itself acts as a thermal
    • This Mr Coffee Optimal Brew 10-cup Thermal machine brews coffee like no other coffee maker I have ever seen, used, or own
    • I was used to the slow brewing Breville which makes a really strong, great tasting cup of coffee
    • Real loud beeps when finished brewing etc
    • After brewing a batch, I remove the top from the carafe and quickly pour it into a large thermos.
    • The brewing is great, though (right temperature, speed, etc), so if you have soft water or brew coffee with distilled water, then this is the pot for you.
    • I love the thermos, I love the "brew later" feature and the style of the coffee maker, I love the container that fills the unit with water
    • It's quiet while brewing
    • but I believe I would purchase another Optimal brew when this one fails.
    • Overall I am very happy with the value per the price and featuresPROS:Nice hot brew temp!!!!Side filter basketRemovable water holder on side !!!!!!
    • Optimal brew Bought our first on 5 years ago, just replaced it
    • Bought because of the fast brew time which also only lasted about 3 months, takes 17 minutes to brew now after less than a year of use, and seems to get slower the older it gets
    • Nice little touches like 2 hour timer since coffee was made & gentle beeps if you remove carafe during a delay brew cycle.
    • The thermal pot keeps the coffee warm for several hours, and even after the fresh brew timer goes off, it still seems "fresh
    • Over the last 4 years this is my 3rd Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew pot
    • So I would say if your used to a fast brewing machine you will like
    • I prefer a rich, full-flavored medium brew, usually Colombian
    • Pros: keep coffee warm; brews fast;Cons
    • ~2-3 hours.-Fresh brewed coffee could
    • This allows the water to sit in the grounds a little longer, making a stronger brew
    • Great machine.2 points of criticism:1 - You can't set delay brew while the fresh brew timer is active
    • Delayed brew is easy to set
    • The PSTX9 produces 205F hot water for perfect brewing
    • Delayed brew is easy to set
    • On the positive, this is a small inconvenience given how the machine operates as such steam occurs only when brewing for 5-7 minutes
    • All the plain water from the cleaning brew was still in the pot, then a full 10 cups of coffee gets brewed and tries to fit into a full pot of 10 cups of water
    • so I checked other possibilities and Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew Thermal won out
    • Then the "clean" light came on, due to very slow brewing times (about 20-30 minutes for a pot)
    • The super hot brewing is the suggested way to make coffee and it is great.
    • It only heats the water on the initial brewing (fresh brewed pot, first cup is going to be
    • The brew is delicious, too
    • It's a really nice coffee maker and has a lot of nice features I wish our old Cuisinart 10-cup thermal coffee maker had - removable water reservoir, easy-change water filters, really fast brew speed
    • The other issue is that the machine brews so fast that additional coffee must be used to avoid a weak brew.
    • I does put out a lot of HOT steam while brewing which was ruining my cabinets.
    • Quick brewing and carafe keeps coffee hot for a few hours.
    • This one does not have a regular/strong brew feature .
    • This is our second Optimal brew after the first lasted for many years.
    • The quality is like of the more expensive brewing machines
    • FOLLOW-UP: Filters are a joke, about every 5th pot of coffee the brew comes out like weak tea
    • It's a very fast brew, so unfortunately you need a finer grind coffee or must put more beans in because there is less contact time with the beans
    • It seems to slow the passage of water through the grounds and yield a bit stronger brew.
    • This brews and sits in thermos type carafe with no extra heat and no water burned off.3
    • great brewing
    • so you know how fresh the last brew is
    • After 4 or 5 hrs it is still warm and drinkable, just not hot as when it first brews.
    • Good looking, space-efficient, quiet brew, like the thermal coffeepot that keeps the coffee hot
    • Fast brewing, too!
    • Perfect height for storage under kitchen cabinets - well constructed - clearly marked water receptacle - carafe keeps coffee hot - fast brewing - lid locks easily - nicely designed - very happy - thank you - czm
    • Love the freshness timer and the delay brew setting
    • ~ Super fast brew and thermos keeps it hot hot hot
    • We're not normally Mr Coffee fans, but we had the Optimal Brew previously, it stopped working, and we ordered another.
    • Our second was that it made very weak coffee (probably related to its speed). We tried using a combination of metal and paper filters to slow down the brewing, and it did help some - raising the brew quality to "acceptable"
    • Easy to set delay brew and normal brewing is very quick even for 10 cups
    • Of all the coffee makers I have tried the Optimal Brew is the Best I have used and that includes some the more expensive models and brands
    • It's fast brew and easy clean up!
    • But after considerable experimention I discovered that using a little less than DOUBLE the recommended amount of coffee per cup yielded a pretty good brew.
    • Great brewing machine for the $
    • Works well, coffee taste fantastic and when brewed at 7:30am is still nice and hot at 2pm
    • And now that I can't delay the brew, I'm done
    • No turning, lining up the dots, finagling, hoping, and praying for proper brew and decent pour
