Mr. Coffee TM1 2-Quart Iced Tea Maker for Loose or Bagged Tea, Blue

    • However the new blue brew basket says it's a "steeping basket" but there is no lever on it, so as the hot water is poured over the tea bags, it then immediately drains into the carafe
    • I am skipping for joy to throw out this piece of junk and replace it with a round model in red, 3 quart and adjustable brew basket.
    • Fifth, you are instructed to take off the steeping basket and put on the separate pitcher lid so it is very easy to dump the contents of the tea bags etc. and rinse the top out immediately with no mess at all
    • Sixth, one problem is that the instructions state that you should place an 8-12 basket size Mr. Coffee paper filter into the steeping basket; yet Mr. Coffee doesn't even include any samples or even one filter for your first use
    • The design hasn’t really changed except for the steeping basket is easier and the maker is very durable.
    • I found that if you take out the steeping basket, fill the resevoir, place the pitcher tightly against the unit and THEN place the basket back into it's place... the producet worked just fine
    • The design hasn’t really changed except for the steeping basket is easier and the maker is very durable.
    • A couple of differences in this tea maker that I like compared to my old one is that the basket is much easier to clean and the brewing process is quicker.
    • IF you do add sugar to the steeping basket, make sure to rinse it off thoroughly because not all the sugar will disolve and go through the basket
    • When you remove the basket all pressure is released and it leaks very easily.
    • i also recommend getting a package of inexpensive coffee filters to use in the steeping basket.
    • I plugged it in before I put the steeping basket w/pitcher underneath, planning I would turn it on once I did that
    • i experimented a bit with the right water /tea ratio and have it down - iced tea is probably more healthy to drink than soda, so it's useful if you're trying to wean yourself off soda (use Splenda or similar in the steeping basket).
    • The thing I don't care for is the fact that the pitcher, top, and steeping basket are supposedly not dishwasher safe
    • I would NOT put loose tea in the steeping basket without a filter though.
    • Choose the round one with an adjustable brew basket instead
    • That one has a top basket to hold the tea bags which incorporates a side lever to plug the bottom drain hole, and an overflow channel so just the last couple of cups steep the tea until you pull the lever to release them
    • We like the basket that can be remove and cleaned easily and that it is so easy to use.
    • At this price, i actually picked up a 2nd one, as the steeper basket & cover and the pitcher alone would cost you
    • There is absolutely nothing on the outside of the box which indicates this necessity, the box picture itself showing the inside of the steeping basket with tea bags has absolutely no visible sign of any Mr. Coffee paper filter.
    • Since the lever can only move upwards; which actually then opens the steeping basket bottom (which you would not see when the steeping basket itself is in place); I am frankly not sure what they are talking about in terms of pushing it in and then down
    • Only thing I don't like: you can't adjust the brewing time, so some of the teas I use that have longer brewing times aren't as good as when brewed by cup -
    • This iced tea maker is as close to perfect as you can get
    • Highly recommend as it makes DELICIOUS iced tea, and a what a great wedding shower gift!
    • not made as well as when I bought my other one in
    • I guess they never heard: If it’s NOT broken, DON’T fix it!!!!!
    • Good sh!t, I'd buy it again!
