Thank goodness for the little Muse icon in the lower right hand corner, because this allows you to disconnect your Muse and it will search your Bluetooth connection and pair it again.
I do have hands free in my Mercedes , but it is not Apple Play which would work better with my iPhone.
I use Alexa at home and when I go off, I have her keep the dogs calm as they listen to orchestra music
It does not support hands free calling or text, which is why I subtracted a star.
and I am hands-free, but not completely distraction free

(Also see my comments about the AUX connection below)I should add a note here that I did find some useful setup videos through the app after I was already done with the setup
device.==SETUP==Although the setup was easy, it was somewhat confusing without any printed instructions
(Keep in mind that this uses your smartphone's data minutes for Alexa connectivity.)Setup was easy and guided quite well by the free Muse Audio App (Android and iOS.

It seems like a neat idea but frankly, most of what I'd use it for is already available on the Alexa App and the features can be found elsewhere like maps, or Waze, or Siri, or even Bixby
I like the features overall, though it doesn't hear well when the volume is at

The Muse Auto Voice Assistant for Cars can use Bluetooth in car (if available) or an auxiliary audio cable (if Bluetooth isn't available.

Alexa skills are fine, but if you decide to work though skills and not native apps, you still need a given skill to have all the functionality of a given app for it to be useful (e.g. not being able to increase play speed on Stitcher when using this through Alexa)I do see great promise in moving Alexa to the car and had a lot of fun demoing the product, so this one nets 3 stars.

When it's connected to the car Bluetooth and my iPhone it works really well.

I seldom used the mic button because a "hey, Alexa" generally did the trick.
In order to use Stitcher, I have to upload the Stitcher skill to Alexa.

While I applaud the concept, due to the delays, the Muse Auto Second Generation: Alexa-Enabled Voice Assistant for Cars will not be regularly installed in our vehicle

Because Muse-Alexa doesn't work through an existing phone app and only exists on the cloud, therefore she doesn't download any data to your phone: so if the internet cuts out, the music stops playingThe bottom line is that Muse-Alexa doesn't handle mobile internet all that well.
However, when I am traveling in an area where the internet is spotty, using a native iPhone app or using Siri to tap into my Apple music is better, due to better buffering.
When I travel in an area where the internet is consistently good, this is not a problem.
The major problem, though--and one of the major issues with the device as you will see below--is that Muse-Alexa needs a rock-stable internet connection in order to work

It seems like a good idea if it were a simpler contraption.
Alexa in the car is a great idea, but the device does not work very well

When you initially install the Muse App, a little message pops up that says Muse has issues with Android 8
perfect LTE service Muse-Alexa will work without a hitch.
and I can even have Alexa control devices in my home with this Muse device, which I like

I use Alexa at home and when I go off, I have her keep the dogs calm as they listen to orchestra music
But if you are driving and the internet cuts in and out or switches to slower 4G, the music pauses while Muse-Alexa dithers, trying to make a connection
The things that would really kick this device into high gear would be:1) better buffering for music, Audible, etc.2) better integration with your phone apps--they are there because they are useful.

All things Alexa seem to work smoothly in this setting
But if you are driving and the internet cuts in and out or switches to slower 4G, the music pauses while Muse-Alexa dithers, trying to make a connection
I was hoping that the availablility of Alexa in my car would make things run smoother, but it did not
If things are loud in the cabin Alexa, through Muse, will answer the wrong question or send you to the wrong location.
If you say "Alexa" and you don't even know if it "heard" you, that's not a good thing

you are on the Google ecosystem and use Android Auto on your phone or have a car that has built-in Android Auto, this device currently does not support it
I'm a big Alexa fan and have devices splattered all around my house so she can assist wherever I am
Now I am not sure if this the device's fault or something with how the Google Pixel or the Android system plays Bluetooth audio
This device will work acceptably if you live in an area with a pristine, LTE internet connection.
Alexa-like devices don't work directly though your existing Alexa app, they need their own app
