Overall it's a great and versatile product that I recommend!
but my friend does, and she reports it works well if you stay within the range and your neighbor doesn't have a 25 year old microwave :-)i think we shall see far more products in this category, and NAD has taken the lead with a great sounding, feature rich, future proof product
When it works it sounds pretty good hence the 2 stars, but I am going to switch to Sonos in the coming months as they seem to actually care about improving their product and supporting it.

anyhow, the amp and DAC still work, and the remote is simple and elegant and never stops working.i see there are complaints about the sensitivity of the on-off switch (i hate touch sensitive on-off buttons that actually just switch to standby, give me a real on off old fashioned switch in *front*, please
For less than adding a sonos to your old amp, you could have a great new amp, with solid DAC, plus airplay, spotifty, bluetooth, USB, and ethernet options to play your music
in a nutshell, i think it triumphs in doing so, but you have to be aware it is a different value proposition than a typical classic integrated amp, which just connects to stuff via analog RCAs and couldn't care less if your home is networked or you have music on your
I think this amp represents a total breakthrough in digital technology.
it's absolutely great value for the cost, a top performing DAC and Amp supporting a myriad of connectivity and control options
This is the core of a desktop/bedroom system so the size was important as well and having the vertical orientation is brilliant.
The only misses for me on the D7050 are the fickle touch control power button (turning it on is easy, off is a bit of a chore but the remote is what I use instead), mini headphone jack (would've preferred full size) and lastly the occasionally tempermental volume level
The amp section didn't sound "stressed" during difficult sections of music and even with only 50 watts available, I was able to drive the speakers pretty loudly in a good sized room
like i said, the remote does a good job.it also looks elegant and understated, i find (but that's a matter of taste) and given the compact size it never draws attention to itself.i already reported on my reservations about Bluetooth

The headphone section is bit better than anticipated, certainly better than a laptop or iDevice (which have good output sections just not great power).
I also dislike the touch sensitive power button, which is hard to find by touch.
I switched 2.1 speakers from very nice older Mordant Shorts to more efficient Q-Acoustics 3050's looking for better mid-power performance and I also upgraded the firmware.
Feature set is great, but power seems barely adequate, I don't believe it is 50 watts/channel, an older 20 watt amp pushed the same speakers much louder and 'fuller' and based solely on recollection, nowhere near as powerful as the original NAD.

We're in a sort of golden age of high quality, relatively affordable digital music reproduction, and I think the D7050 is a stand-out product in this era.
Music is crystal clear, with spookily precise placement of instruments and performers on the soundstage
given she had her significant music collection distributed all over the place, and already had a Squeezebox
Imaging and soundstaging are just amazing (honestly, really, really amazing). If you listen to very well recorded music, you can here all sorts of micro-detail.

It's output is clean, and smooth, producing uncolored music.

I am not happy with the dead sound quality when playing Spotify or Sirius XM through it, either via my Mac or my IOS devices, either with wi-fi or directly connected through an AudioQuest quality USB to Lightning connector
Sound quality is very good and digital source integration worked well.
The feel remains somewhat low quality and not immediately intuitive
This seems to have helped the volume gradient issues and with the more efficient Q-Acoustics the overall sound is much better.
Sound quality from the NAD D 7050 is excellent, and Airplay has never dropped out.

NAD iPhone app is crappy, as is Spotify Connect
For the last two months, I have enjoyed the NAD D1050 DAC from the new D range as my headphone amp at work, and it's been absolutely great

For the last two months, I have enjoyed the NAD D1050 DAC from the new D range as my headphone amp at work, and it's been absolutely great
both the DAC and the amplification stage truly are a fantastic deal at $1k! and to pack high quality, honest 50W -most amplifier vendors in this price range lie- into such a small package is no mean feat
Since the DAC was great, I took the plunge and replaced my AV 7.1 receiver with a D7050.I had already dropped the surround
