It is a bit melty, if you get it on a hot day, let it harden up before you use it

Use this for the summer on my husky to help with those hot days when I need to walk her on the sidewalk

my cat loves to go outside, so i think this stuff is pretty cool especially for hot days where he can burn his paws on the pavement!

I even tested it on the palm of my hand on a really hot day out of the street in front of my place and it helped.

I bought Pawtection a couple of years ago when my dog got deep splits on her paws due to cold winter hiking.

However my dogs hate it (but they hate everything, and they know they have to tolerate it if they want to go out)

I scraped some off the stick, then applied it to my dogs' paws, which worked better than applying it directly from the stick.

I’ve tried other products for my dogs rough & raw paws and all have been a waste

My dog burned his paws, or rather we were culpable in that, on a hike

but I would not recommend this to try and use for walks in the winter to protect their paws.
