Slightly improved range and speed over Asus rt-ac66, but not as reliable
Never had this problem with my older router that just gave out after 6 years.. this new one is supposed to be 5g and doesnt even work as well as the older version n etgear that didnt even have 5g
So far the coverage is great and the range is wonderful.
That has only happened once with this router and the range seems good
This router has a very fast connection speed, and also has great range
Coverage and signal strength on this router is wonderful

Solid signal strength, good speed, relatively intuitive
Upgraded our old netgear router due to weak coverage, this router covers our entire 2000+ square foot home excellently

Got great coverage in my 2 story home and no 5G drops that were frequent on my previous router.
Setup was easy, good coverage, however there were two minor issues.
Am getting great connection and coverage in my home with this router
This router has a very fast connection speed, and also has great range
Great internet speeds everywhere around the house and outside, zero loss of speed from modem, easy to setup
All wireless devices connected and got internet connections, albeit at much slower speeds that the 127 Mbps we get on Ethernet connection directly to the modem
So far with the Netgear router my speeds have been good and consistent
Far better range and speed than any router that I have tried
I also don't have to reset it daily to attempt to increase my speed as I regularly get faster than I'm supposedly paying for
To paraphrase the wizard, this router could have the slogan "I am Nighthawk X4S, the great and powerful"I purchased the R7800 to replace a failing R7000
To keep this short, he said it was hardware failure (?)
Now I have Wi-Fi for my Chromebook and my phone, as well as for friend's phones when they want to stream music etc
The warranty period is one year and after calling their support the only way to get them to try to help me is to pay them $140 for one year of support even though it was a hardware failure and no settings will fix that

Way better than my old router I currently have 13 devices connected and climbing no WiFi issues and no complaints!!

(it was still working but WiFi in certain parts of the house would buffer a bunch) thinking it would fix my WiFi issues.
My other router allowed my blu-ray player to play videos and music through my laptop from an external hard drive with no problem

I attached a usb hdd to the router usb port and after tweaking my firewall software have a mapped network drive available to my mobile devices.
I also don't have to reset it daily to attempt to increase my speed as I regularly get faster than I'm supposedly paying for
I also connected one of my external hard drives to the X4S WiFi router
I guess maybe I'm just real bad at reading listings, but it's basically pointless with a gigabit connection if you're looking to be wired as well.
Thus far I have some 4 hard wired and 5 WiFi devices connected and have had no issues with traffic or connections
a second one wired to it?I cannot believe it does not work
Finally went through all the various checks with Mediacom, and they said our internet signal is fine, must be the router because when connect hard wire to my laptop I get internet.
And to be perfectly fair, the wired and 2.4Ghz bands/channels are still going like gangbusters.
Decided to go with a slightly more expensive model and it’s night and day
Make sure you are reading the review for the correct model when purchasing.
and I didn't want to take a chance with buying a cheaper model with low reviews.
Replaced an older (cheaper) model I had bought first that I had to return because of horrible range.
This was not the router that I was offered at Best Buy at first; it was the cheapest brand and the sales guy wanted to sell me the more expensive model
