Was it removed because more memory was needed for another purpose, or because that log is just too incriminating about poor cable performance
No problems at all and much-improved performance over previous modem

For my part I really wish that this was beefed up a bit so it could server as simple router for a home network, but that would have bumped the price up quite a bit (the C7800 is netgear's offering for that market, and its substantially more).

I politely declined as that was far too expensive and beyond the my needs, plus if everything outside of the modem tests fine, the reasonable deduction is that it is the modem that is faulty.
Installation was easy, although phone call to the cable company (Spectrum) was needed to activate the modem

Followed simple directions on Comcast’s website about replacing a modem, then manually navigated to the Comcast website they specified, entered my Comcast account number and street address and in a couple minutes I was fully activated, including two different phone lines.

All you need is your Xfinity information - account number and login and the information off the bottom of the unit, Serial number, MAC Address the model number and your phone number
make sure you record your cable account number, phone number (associated with the account), username and password prior to disconnecting the old modem.
Install was the quickest I've had except had to be transferred to get phone line to work as it was still registered to the old modem.
Finally I told the tech to just install a modem off his truck and viola everything worked as it should.
They just needed my account number and the MAC address of the new modem

NETGEAR tried to assist but a really difficult to work with representative spent a few hours trying to help without resolution and then tried to blame our router which has always worked and then tried to sell us a $120/year plan to help us win our router
This time, it took support an hour to determine my modem is dead, then proceeded to blame my ISP.This is my last one
Got this product in June and hooked it up and didn’t realize after 3.5 months that it was the modem issues I was having, I spent countless hours on the phone with Comcast and had 3 techs sent out and the last tech swapped out my modem with theirs and it works perfectly, so much time wasted
