NETGEAR Cable Modem CM1000 - Compatible with all Cable Providers including Xfinity by Comcast, Spectrum, Cox | For Cable Plans Up to 1 Gigabit | DOCSIS 3.1

    • I had to reset the modem all the time, sometimes 5 times a day because we'd lose connectivity
    • Finally, I figured out the solution by going through a series of reboots, but in the end, all NETGEAR support did was waste my time.
    • Had an easy time setting it up and it's been working really well
    • This modem stays cool all the time, which is surprising because it can handle incredibly more download and upload speeds than my old modem, which would get kind warm/hot to the touch
    • Each time the phone activation command was sent from the Comcast Server, the modem would freeze
    • The good news is, I just processed the return through Amazon so my only loss is time spent on a 5 year cable modem that likes to drop connection randomly.
    • and you want to get it correct the 1rst time !!
    • It comes with a 'Quick Start Guide' so you don't have to waste time looking through a manual
    • how it could happen, how Amazon could ship used product to its customer as fresh new one, and even surprised to hear there is no way to complain, Amazon doesn't have a telephone number or email address allow customer to complain, that means, this issue could happen next time to any Amazon customer !!
    • Vastly improved my ping times and reliability compared to the cable company issued one.
    • I explained that I had been doing the same thing for nearly 7 hours and that my time was more valuable to
    • This time when I called the Xfinity phone number, one of the options was "connectivity issues", which I picked
    • Ive wasted enough time with that mistake .
    • Time will tell how durable it is, but so far so good.
    • Lost signal with the MODEM few times, also small rage limited due to weak signal.
    • My wife and kids are thrilled, and I am relieved that I don't hear complaints every sometimes multiple times per day.
    • Internet drops several times each day as well.
    • I set it up and had the WORST time trying to get it to activate
    • For the price and time to break even I should have just kept the XFinity modem.
    • I really did not feel like wasting any more time with Netgear trying to troubleshoot a defective product, so, I returned it
    • After wasting valuable time trying to get this thing to work, I finally called Comcast and asked them to move me back to Double Play and re-activated my old modem, the trusty Surfboard, and haven't had an internet connection issue since
    • Support time to authenticate/register modem while on my cell phone took about 15 min.
    • This is the 2nd one I have had, this time it stopped working after 19 months.
    • Also perfect timing since everyone is working remotely this day and age
    • Having a hard time sending it back
    • So this time around I though I'd just scrap this unit and go for a higher end expensive unit
    • Customer support would have you troubleshoot the devices (had a hard time understanding their English)
    • Now the modem loses connection about 10 times a day
    • and this is the first time...not too bad
    • You just have to like when things work the first time, the way they are supposed to.
    • WiFi part of this not so great several times a day I have to disconnect computer or phones just so the WiFi will work
    • Had a difficult time setting up when calling spectrum to activate the modem.
    • If you're moving to a new place, this is a good time to switch to your own modem & router combo, as the Xfinity tech would not charge extra to set up the modem & router for you.
    • I was on the phone with NETGEAR for multiple hours, they wasted my time with meaningless testing and refused to give me a refund
    • I was right, and this modem hasn't had to be rebooted since I set it up four months ago, giving me sustained throughputs of 250+ Mbps, bursts of 380 Mbps (ISP allowing, of course), amazing ping times, and smooth interactive comms and gaming while watching several video streams plus heavy DB
    • It’s very hot all the time
    • First time, I got it to working again
    • Only when the top four lights are solid green the SECOND time (about 10 minutes) proceed to step two.
    • Ive wasted enough time with that mistake .
    • Very buggy, stalls all the time and even streaming stalls
    • Each time I call in - they find a problem and claim it was fixed, and the port will complete in 24 hours
    • Unfortunately, I exceeded the time to return the product or I would.
    • Unit started having unicast, broadcast time out errors for about 4 days.
    • but this is not my idea of how I want to spend my free time
    • This time, it took support an hour to determine my modem is dead, then proceeded to blame my ISP.This is my last one
    • The link stays up but stops working for a few seconds at a time all the time while in heavy use.
    • I've been down rat holes like this before, and I didn't feel like spending more time getting it to work.
    • It stops working several times per day
    • Finally, I figured out the solution by going through a series of reboots, but in the end, all NETGEAR support did was waste my time.
    • Thankfully they will honor the warranty and replace the unit, once that one dies will look for a different brand next time.
    • This has wasted so much time and energy of mine
    • The CM700 modem works great, one time cost instead of a monthly fee that amounted to much more a year than this cost
    • Seems like if it failed, it would all the time
    • was a good time to upgrade.
    • This netgear 24x8 modem had difficult time providing constant speeds throughout the day
    • It froze up a couple times but nothing too bad
    • We were on the phone 5 different times with XFINITY to register this product...every time was unsuccessful.
    • Best Buy was more helpful from POS to returning and recommending a better option and quick turnaround time.
    • Very disappointed having wasted so much time and effort with this modem and it will not work with our service.
    • Called my ISP, and there is no connection issue from their side which makes sense because this modem starts working every time after a restart
    • Easy set up, good response time
    • The speeds with it were intermittent the entire time i had it (i have a 300 mbps connection and was only getting 18-20 down with a wired connection)
    • Don’t settle for less than the fastest download and uploads - why waste your own time when this modem gives best performance at a great price
    • I am a xfinity triple play customer and not happy with the rental modem provided and have a hard time to find a good modem to support phone
    • Even though the box states is does NOT work with Spectrum (Formally Time Warner cable), I was able to activate this modem in my area at least
    • Took a little time to set up but no problems so far
    • Thanks Netgear for completely wasting my time with false advertising
    • Time will tell how good this router is, but works so far.
    • I've noticed I get far fewer interruptions of service, faster downloading times, and smoother streaming!
    • Had a difficult time attaching them properly.
    • But it takes a loooong time to warm up
    • My experience with Netgear support based on several calls has been terrible - long wait times to get connected and no useful assistance.
