I had to call tech support to get it to function correctly
Not at all please with the performance of the ex6200 or the tech support I got from Netgear.
A lot of websites become blocked or don't respond giving off a "DNS error".NETGEAR Tech support for this product is flat out terrible, I was continuously put on hold and eventually hung up
Netgear Tech Support is on point but kinda a pain to get a person on the
I didn't know this at first since it's not mentioned at all in the manual and even the useless tech support person was unaware of it
We have had a great deal of frustration getting excellent coverage from one end of the house to the other
I find a location that gets a good signal at about the furthest point where I would be about to lose network coverage and put this device at that location.
Some of the reviews on this page seem to be on lesser products by netgear that don't work as
It gives me GREAT coverage for my entire home and yard.
I wanted wireless coverage outside and coverage was lacking further away from the either of the Apple Airport Extremes
Woirks, setup was easy (in my case because WPS was available), WiFi range is better.
The setup was a little flaky - sometimes the admin page didn't refresh right away when an item was clicked, etc
Easy setup, less than 5 minutes and connecting devices is no problem.
After trying ASUS EA-N66 and having a major hassle I gave up and ordered this AC1200 and it works instantly getting all 5 bars 200 + feet from the extender fast and hassle free setup, don't bother with the cheaper ones you'll be sorry!
Easy setup, has better reception than the router it connects to!
Further, I do not get significant net speed degradation as compared to not using an extender.
She couldn't understand what I was trying to tell her and kept repeating that the slow speeds I was getting from the ex6200 were because of "settings" in my wifi router
After carefully following the directions, it worked perfectly and the only slow speeds are the result of a computer that should be replaced.
I have all netgear products to connect wifi and still spotty reception and speeds
I also found that the 2g speeds are somewhat slower (by about 25%) on the Netgear extender than on my Time Warner Cable Wifi Router - though it should be noted that we get an extra bar indicating greater reception
Devices should be connected through the extender network only where the Wi-Fi device is in a “dead zone” where connection from the existing network is poor or nonexistent.
After the installation of the new router, I noted some persistent “dead zones” where connection from the existing network was poor or nonexistent.
I ended up unplugging it because the connection was inconsistent even though the main router was located just one floor above it.
The extender itself was fast and the connection was stable
I've also been hardwiring my devices for a more stable connection and that's been a breeze
Normal 'net surfing appears to be just as rapid as over our existing WiFi
I don't know how well it works in a large suburban home, but the fact that this thing cuts through eleven brick walls like a hot knife through warm butter makes it hard for me to imagine it NOT working
Unfortunately it didn't work as I expected it always needs to be restarted to work properly, but i give 3 stares for its coverage and easy to set up .
Originally, I set this up the regular way and speeds did increase substantially on our 5g smartphones as well as on our Chromebooks
One glaring problem that is not real clear up front, is the fact you can't use your Ethernet-based desk-top computer.

Sincerely recommend that when you see a NetGear product to ......run as fast as you can!
While it is true that many items are received at discounted rates or complimentary, my reviews are completely unbiased as well as honest and are my personal experiences and opinion of the product

so adding this device to my network expended my signal and gave me 5 ports for hard wired conncetions to local devices
i was afraid it would not work as well as the hard wire
If you are looking for an easy extension and want a hard wired connection, get this one.
Now, with the Netgear, I get equivalent to hard wired speeds on my wireless ac devices all over the upstairs.
To add weight to my review: Been working in networking for 25 years, run a network operations region covering a 1/3 of the country for a fortune 500 company, several world firsts with technology, 50+ internet devices in my home with more than a dozen hard wired RJ45 jacks, several routers
If you don't mind an incessant buzzing noise, I'd say this is near perfect, but I'm torn between its speed and convenience and an unwanted sound effect that is driving me to the bughouse
The short version: seems to work OK, easy to setup, but makes an odd hissing noise
I noticed that I can also hear a humming noise coming out of the device when it's plugged to AC
I can't even use my home or office computer to access it through the static IP I assigned to it
well i
Not as strong as I though it would be
When I did the troubleshooting, it said that the router had the wrong IP address
I've tried a few different firmware versions, I've migrated the EX6200 to a static IP, and tried a few other basic steps, but there's a huge thread on the support forums that keep referencing this problem, without any potential solution
This would be great for streaming movies and music off the hard drive, wireless computer backups, and general centralized file storage
Not as strong as I though it would be
We haven’t used the ReadyShare feature yet, but i’ll be hooking up an external hard drive to it
Using my router's ReadyShare feature and the N450 adapter it would take me about six minutes to transfer a 5.5 gigabyte file from the USB hard drive over wireless signal
In addition to the basic extension you can connect five wired network devices directly to the router and either a printer or USB hard drive that can be accessed throughout the
What I mean is, when is connected the transfer rates are superb, however the main problem it has and as I can see more people are having same issue, just check the forum for it, it looses connection to the WiFi base every other 2-3 days
Some people have mentioned the WPS setup did not work for them
However, after looking on line it appears many other people have the same problem.
They simply give you an email to 'contact our service people".People who use this email then complain about inept service.)-------I installed the range extender in the 2nd floor of my house in late
After calling my own internet provider, they tried to help, they found an 888-939-9092 phone number to call but Netgear wants an additional $100+ for one year or $200+ for 2 years
Once you finally get a phone number and wait for 20 minutes on hold to talk to someone, their only offered solution was to return the extender to the store.
Went to netgear website and spent two days trying to problem solve but could nor so spent another day trying to find phone number for customer service but kept being taken in circles.
And there's no phone number in the handbook, the setup instructions, or the website because being able to talk to an actual live person is a luxury afforded to only clients of the best companies, which this is clearly not.
