I disconnected from the wireless network and plugged the ethernet cable into my laptop directly from the modem to see if my initial speed was the issue; doing that gave me 38 mbps.
Now I have fast, reliable speed and it only cost me $16.99
Now I have the speed of N with a huge coverage area and more bandwidth than my modem can shake a stick at!
