Plus this unit doesn't get very hot, not enough to sear anything, of course a burger or a hot dog is going to brown on this because of their high level of fat, but nothing else really is going to brown up for you on this grill.

My hamburgers were not cooked the way i have been use to grilling, they were overdone due to the long heat exposure needed to cook them, and the hot dogs took forever to get done

There is a removable non-stick grilling surface that is a lot harder to clean than the non-stick surface you would encounter on a frying pan.

It's possible that using a lower cooking temperature will mitigate that effect but even if it does you should expect to be grilling meat for a much longer period of time than an outdoor grill, grilling over a stove in a frying pan or using something like a George Foreman Grill (do they still make those?) would take
