    Nikon AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G Close-up Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras

    • Well, manual focusing is really plasticky and sticky, unfortunately
    • this lens has a good build sharp focus and micro is dead n#ts on
    • Pros:-Tack sharp images, especially with stabilization (tripod + remote, etc)-Manual focus is smooth and works well (good for me because I do a lot of focus stacking)-Works well for macro and landscape (granted these won't be wide-angle landscape shots)-Fantastic for waterfall photography
    • Lens is lightweight enough that you can get away with handheld shots- 40mm focal length (60mm on full-frame) makes it good for product photography of larger objects- has focus limiter switch to disable macro and speed up autofocus- great manual focus feelHere are the cons
    • This lens, because of how it's made, lets you bring that finger waaay closer and remain in clear, astounding focus
    • Its focus is a little bit annoying because it changes every mini-second .. so you can fix this by pressing the AE-L button .. when reaching the desired
    • Lightweight, good focus range, Excellent all around lens.
    • Easy to use with fast focus, tack sharp for portraits with a beautiful bokeh
    • Fast focus, *fantastic colors*, beautiful bokeh
    • Super sharp lense amazing focus distance will work perfect on the d3300 or in crop mode on the D750
    • focus)is impressive
    • Nice and sharp, guick auto focus, DX format, good depth of field, 250 bucks!I recommend this lens to all the DX users out there, you won't be disappointed.
    • Inexpensive, sharp focusing and good contrast make this a useful DX lens
    • The lens came in good time and is well made and is very sharp, takes great micro photos of bugs, flowers and land scapes and people on my Nikon D3200.Update: after a year and 8000 plus photo's the lens is failing, making a grinding noise when auto focusing and does not want to auto focus, right, after hundreds of photo's and 2 different Nikon D3200 cameras, on tripod and hand held can no longer get clear images in macro mode with lens set on auto, manual focus seems to work ok so far
    • Great lens, very sharp and very accurate focus, but it leaves me wanting a long lens
    • This makes focusing much easier, since the live view is not very good for fine close focusing.
    • This is my go-to macro lens, it’s always tack sharp with fast focusing, and you ca
    • Well, manual focusing is really plasticky and sticky, unfortunately
    • This lens is everything a prime lens should be-tack sharp, fast focusing, and utterly without flaw
    • this lens has a good build sharp focus and micro is dead n#ts on
    • As a macro, the pictures I took are crisp and the focus is tack sharp
    • There is also switch to limit the focus.
    • so you're adding 60$ and adding the best focusing range in all nikon lenses
    • Focus at macro level is very hard to achieve especially with multiple subjects.
    • use it outdoors because it's very sharp although the auto focus sometimes
    • The big advantage over a standard 50mm of course is close focus, and close it gets
    • I might just sell it and not buy anything similar until I feel the need for an expensive f/1.4 lens
