    • Absolutely love this fast lens, definitely improves your image quality, great bokeh and shallow debt of field.
    • Excellent bokeh
    • Also, this lens didnt meet my expectations for the bokeh, I didnt expect a very creamy bokeh, but this one produced very busy, unattractive bokeh
    • I am definitely not a professional photographer, but this lens has such wonderful bokeh it makes my shots look great in sunlight.
    • Paired with the Nikon SB-900 AF Speedlight Flash for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras, anyone can take a picture perfect portrait, and you can capture gorgeous bokeh and snap away in low light situations thanks to the large 1.8 aperture.
    • For me, a good bokeh is well worth the extra $100(compared with older 50mm f/1.8d)

    • Great bokeh, and wonderful results.

    • Amazing pictures with great bokeh
    • Nice bokeh on Nikon d7200
    • As with most lenses you may tend to lose a bit of sharpness at bigger f-stops, but even wide open at 1.8 this lense renders rather sharp images with soft & smooth bokeh
    • You can learn to shoot with shallow depth of field and get that nice bokeh to give your photos the "pro" look that differentiates your pictures from your in-laws' point and shoot (not saying that it's not possible with the kit lens, but the sharpness and contrast should be superior on this one).Yes, you have to move around a little but it will definitely help to learn composition
    • The bokeh is nice as well.
    • In return, it delivers beautiful bokeh and crisp images (when they're in focus), and rich detail even in low light with high shutter speeds
    • This lens really blurs out the background and has excellent bokeh.
    • Don't know if its lightning quick, but, bokeh turns out smooth and buttery.
    • Very clear with great bokeh.
    • Stopped down a bit (f/2.2-4) the optics are far above my expectations; sharp everywhere, punchy contrast, and gorgeous bokeh. Stop it down even further (f/4-8) and this lens is optically perfect.

    • Excellent Bokeh, excellent depth of field and fantastic lens for portrait shots and good with macros as well with macro filters

    • And the bokeh is amazing!
    • Like others will tell you, the bokeh is awesome on this one.
    • Bokeh is smooth.
    • , the performance in terms of focus is very pleasing and the aperture is the one I need, so unless you need to go one step further for the f/1.4 for a shallower depth of field and a little bit creamier bokeh, then go for it
    • The bokeh has improved also as mentioned diue to its new design
    • Bokeh is incredible
    • The lens is very quick at auto focusing.-I am amateur photographer, I like being able to manual focus from time to time.-Great bokeh, shallow depth of field-Great for indoor low light situation

    • However, the bokeh is nicer, you can shoot a 2/3 faster in low light, and you have a shallower depth of field.
    • the images are so clear, the bokeh is amazing
    • Nice bokeh
    • The portrait shots I've taken with this lens show great light, bokeh and all around sharpness
    • photos- Beautiful bokeh (at f/1.8, portraits come
    • Yet Nikon also improved the bokeh of this new lens versus the 50mm f/1.8D!
    • Does good in low light conditions, nice bokeh, and very sharp
    • I compared this new 1.8g lens with Nikon 85mm f/1.4d( testing pictures taken at F2), I very happily find that bokeh of 1.8g is very close to 85mm f/1.4d, which is a benchmark of beautiful bokeh.(85mm 1.4 @ f2
    • I started out with the Nikon D3300 Kit lens, which is a nice lens also, but I was missing a strong bokeh in my photos.

    • The bokeh is smooth and creamy as others have said
    • Great lens great bokeh
    • Although I have not used the 35mm, I also felt that the Bokeh might not be as nice because the 35mm is a bit 'wider' than the 50mm and therefore the depth of field (what enables the Bokeh) would not be as shallow, so more of the background (and foreground) would be in 'focus', thus ruining the Bokeh.
    • The bokeh you can get with the wide aperture is just amazing
    • Yet Nikon also endowed this lens with excellent bokeh despite it being half the price.
    • The bokeh this lens produces is just stunning.
    • The photos look crisp and have excellent bokeh
    • the 50mm has amazing bokeh
    • Love the bokeh and how great the lighting is in low-lit places
    • Bokeh is good
    • Bokeh is awesome with f/1.8 no matter in day or night
    • The Bokeh is stunning and everyone comments on it
    • I also had the 50mm f/1.4G, which I loved for it's nice bokeh and of course the fact it was a f/1.4.
    • Great image quality and nice bokeh (background blur with subject/item in focus)
    • As an owner of older 50mm f/1.8d lens, I can tell you that this new g lens is a revolution of the old one mainly because of smooth bokeh(out of focus area) that this lens renders
    • Creamy soft bokeh and sharp as they come
    • Low light performance is great, and the lens produces smooth creamy bokeh
    • Amazing bokeh and tack sharp if stopped down a bit
    • I wanted a lens that I could use in-doors without a flash, and would have good image quality (pleasant pictures Bokeh/Contast/Sharpness).
    • Nice bokeh, fast focus
    • The bokeh and optics is a great improvement from the 50mm f1.8D which I still own and hardly use anymore
    • The low aperture makes it possible to have that beautiful "bokeh" that makes your subject really pop out
    • It's very fast and produces a beautiful bokeh to my images!
    • The bokeh is beautiful
    • Straight out of the box I was able to get the beautiful bokeh that I had been attempting (and failing) with my kit and zoom lenses
    • Excellent lens works real good on closeups with beautiful bokeh
    • Great bokeh and great for portraits.
    • Nikon promotes in this way, "great for producing images with beautiful background blur (Bokeh)".This new g lens certainly has "beautiful background blur (Bokeh
    • The bokeh is amazing
    • The pictures have great bokeh and are very clear!
    • so all I'm really looking for is a lens that takes CLEAR PICTURES and one that makes BEAUTIFUL BOKEH (
    • The photos are very sharp and the bokeh is amazing.
    • Throw it to 1.8 and use the camera speed, and the Bokeh is amazing...
    • However, the 50 mm is great for what it's for ....awesome quality pics, awesome bokeh, lightweight (plastic) yet most likely very durable
    • Spent all morning shooting photos of a wine collection and I can't help but compliment the amazing bokeh that the f1.8 aperture setting gives
    • Without a flash)I recommend to use a good B+W or Hoya Multicoat UV protector filter on it always
    • So the moral of the story is either a) get a good one or b
