We placed them on similar areas of the dash, on smooth surfaces as directed
-
Needs completely flat surface to mount on, but otherwise works great!
-
I followed the instructions and mounted the steelie on a smooth surface in my car
-
SURFACE MUST BE EXTREMELY CLEAN to adhere.
-
There just isn't enough surface area on the magnet
-
But I have some stickier stick that is working great even on the slightly rough surface
-
When I first put the mount in my vehicle I put in on a surface that the tape did not stick to very well, and after a couple weeks the mount fell off, but I found a different spot with a different (more smooth) surface and I have had no problems since!Installation:The installation of the Steelie was very simple, and the directions are very clear on the package
-
If you try to mount it on a vertical smooth plastic surface it will not support a phone like the gs7 edge
-
I’ve cleaned the surfaces with the alcohol swab, and applied new adhesive patches included in the kit, but they fall off after a week or two
-
I'm going to try to abrade the surface of the magnet with very fine sand paper and see if that helps
-
Since the magnet is attached to the phone, I can attach my phone to other metal surfaces like the fridge or a file cabinet at work, safe and out of the way, but still handy
-
Also, try to find the smoothest surface you can
-
The idea of these magnetic mounts is great but the adhesive did not stick to the phone or my dash even with cleaning the surface with the provided alcohol pad
-
Reattached to a smoother surfaced area and it fell off 24 hours later.
-
Make sure you have a plastic case and a smooth, flat surface on your dash at least the size of a quarter - and in a place your radio or A/C controls won't be blocked
-
The only issue I had was that the 3M sticky on the button would not adhere to my case because my case is not a smooth surface
-
There are no smooth surfaces that allow the phone to sit at a comfortable level for use or to see clearly
-
I cleaned the surface and installed the mount then had the issues of it keep falling off
-
The only difficulty I ran into was finding a surface that was completely flat to mount the ball.
-
I’ve cleaned the surfaces with the alcohol swab, and applied new adhesive patches included in the kit, but they fall off after a week or two
-
I tried to roughen the ball with 100 grit sandpaper at first but ended up using a stone bit on a drill to texture the ball surface enough to stabilize the phone’s weight
-
Is a decent product but has to be mounted on a smooth surface
-
And yes, we did clean the surface prior to applying the sticky adhesive
-
I did follow the instructions for making sure that the surface was clean and left the mounting ball attached and unused overnight once it was installed
-
Try a couple of spots to ensure that the mounting surface is completely flat and that, once mounted, your phone won't interfere with other controls.
-
The magnet is strong enough I mounted it vertically in my vehicle since it had a smooth surface to adhere to, with zero issues.
-
I haven't tried scuffing the surface to give it more grip
-
I followed directions and cleaned the surface prior to installation, however, the adhesive would not stick at all.
-
The 2000 Camry did not have a flat enough surface it to install it where it would be in a safe arms reach
-
I followed the directions and picked a flat surface, cleaned it with the provided wipe, the waited for it to dry and then glued the magnet to the dash
-
It is annoying to have it vulnerable to heat or human error due to lack of adequate surface preparation but the solid function of everything else makes it worth dealing with
-
But with a flat surface works great
-
I attached it to a clean, flat, smooth surface and both adhesive circles that came in the box failed to stick
-
The rough surfaces tend not stick so well.
-
As one reviewer stated, if you're having a problem with it sticking to a surface, you're not reading the simple directions, which are to clean the surfaces with provided alcohol wipes (do it reeeeeeally good), let dry
-
Once I did this everything works as
-
We’ve tested both and mine doesn’t magnetize the things nearly as well as his
-
and now that I’m missing a

The only thing I would add is a little rubber pad on the part that touches the back of the phone but it still works as it should with the way it is
