It works as advertised, the UI could be better but other than that it's a solid product.
After a few hours on with Phone Power support, and marginal e-mail support from ObiHai, I have concluded there is not a solution, and have canceled my nascent Phone Power account
The next step in the total phone # conversion will be to port my Comcast very old phone # used for over 30 years to a T mobile cheap cell phone which cost $1.50 for a GSM sim card and $20 for a cheap BLU brand unlocked GSM phone to port my Comcast land line to the temporary cell phone
This didn't work as advertised, and even after trying all of the many useful tips on amazon, it was just too much trouble to try to make it work
Works exactly as advertised, great value and a great way to dump your landline provider for a free VoIP setup.
I set up my Magicjack phone number as line 1 and my Google Voice phone number as line 2
I use it for a free google voice line and a paid VoIP.ms line.
ATT service was discontinued, with existing wireless phone system attached to the first port using my old land line number ported to Google Voice
Google Voice and this device gives us a free home line!
If you want free incoming and outgoing phone calls with a real number and no monthly fees this is the least expensive line of devices available to you without sacrificing quality
Obihai isn't exactly invisible during installation, since you will be using their site for registration and setup, but it's about as close to transparent as it gets.
I have more than just one phone line with Obitalk and including a dedicated fax number.
We purchased this to set up a temporary line for my wife to receive calls for her work as well as to have a line available for
I got a Google Voice account and ported in my fax number to Google voice, in attempt to keeping my running costs low
Had the OBi101 previously and upgraded to this model because I wanted a second line for a dedicated fax number
I was a bit skeptical about this product, but so far so good.
I truely love saving about 40 dollars a month, a bit of sound issue is not a problem for me when I compare the fact that it saves me 40 dollars a month
A bit more difficult is a set up with SIP providers, especially with those not pre configured by Obi
Since I already had a Google Voice number, I did a bit of research and stumbled upon the OBi202 device.
It looks like it might be a slight bit more difficult to use other providers.4
The only 2 tweaks, that I had to make were: 1) redirect the public port 10000 to the same on my LAN pointing to my OBi202 and 2) correct the home router settings to give the VoiceIP packets highest priority using my home
I ported my home phone to google voice (first had to port to cell phone because google voice only ports from cell phone) and I registered my OBI202 with google voice and wallah, works like a charm
I wanted to keep my home number but google voice only ports in from cell numbers,so I ported my number over to an AT&T go phone then over to google voice
I ported my house number to a cheap cell phone and ported it again to Google voice.
I use this device with Google Voice as well as my old wired numbers ported over to CallCentric.
I have google Voice home phone now and we bought the e-911 service that is recommended.
You need a high speed internet hard wired line from your router to use the OBi box.
http://www.dialgizmo.c o m for $40 which plugs into a standard RJ11 jack hard wired line and the old rotary phone plugs into the interface DIALGIZMO small box 2"x3" which converts pulses to tones, and the old rotary phones work correctly with the OBI box.
The voice quality is still excellent with hard wired phone base (which supports 4 wireless phones) connected directly to the OBi202.
You can also have the OBI box also ring your cell phone as well as your hard wired phones in the house or remotely
Port your home number to one connection and use Google Voice on the other to get unlimited long distance in the contiguous U.S and more.
Given the fact that I'm a super big cheapskate, I'm going to replace my Ooma with one of these and port my home number over to Google Voice to go from about $50/year to $0/year.
so I contacted Google Voice to port my "cell Phone"/old home number over to GV
I have google Voice home phone now and we bought the e-911 service that is recommended.
so all troubleshooting must by waiting for the appropriate e-mails.
