Oculus Go Standalone Virtual Reality Headset - 32GB
Edition:32GB
Oculus Go is a whole new way to watch in VR. With crystal clear optics and state-of-the-art 3D graphics, the headset feels more like a personal theater. Just put it on, switch it on, and enjoy the littlest, big screen around. Watch a m...
We're simply not there yet on the standalone VR front, and while I find the Gear experience superior in most every way, it too is still flawed on the whole
I believe this is a good way to find out how you feel about the VR experience.
It's amazing and it's the easiest, cheapest way to have VR in your life
But if you're thinking about buying a Vive or Rift, this might be a good way to see if serious VR is something you'll want to invest in

Updated: I changed it from 4 star to 1 star because the Go has issues with some modems where you cant watch a single tv show or any app that you loose wifi up to 5 times per hour
I had no issues setting up the Go using the Oculus App on a Samung Note 5
APP said (12may 2018) that its NOT AVAILABLE IN MY REGION.(I'm in New Zealand)Thats always infuriating to read when us non Usa based consumers read that
Some good apps to get started are Netflix, Hulu, bigscreen, altspace vr, and poker vr
My main gripes with the system have been app-specific; mostly the issues I run into with Hulu VR
I feel bad the all the great minds at Oculus have to work for the Facebook tools that hinder this product.
But to sum up 3 stars due to lack of memory expansion, poor battery life, no USB C do harm this product, due to lack of memory means you got to be very selective and what you can Install and some media content needs downloading to get the best experince, so here with memory expansion the gear wins out as I dont need to be selective, run out of
This is a reasonably nice product and good for "light" entertainment
The wife LOVES it, great product that I heard about on the Armstrong & Getty radio show
This product is a recommend for me if you do not have a Samsung phone.
so far oculus go is the best 360 vr device that is under $200
Fun games also (I like Dead and Buried) but not quite as immersive as the computer tethered headsets.
I wanted to love this device, but I'm actually kinda bummed
Otherwise enjoy the device for what it is: a cheap device to get in the VR world and watch movies or share your virtual presence on social with friends
but the device get hot, and you loose freedom of movement
These are the best thing since the invention of the smart phone.
that you dont need a phone because trying to put smart phones in these vr glasses is a pain
The big seller for me was the fact that you don't need a computer or a console to run it, just a smart phone and that is only for the initial set up
Lenovo Mirage (2* the price), Gear VR (broke my phone), and Google Daydream (haven't tried it?).
I loved the Gear VR but between the screen fog, visible debris from your phone screen and the overheating issue, Gear VR became something I could use 10-15 minute at a time.
This is a good VR headset for the money, the games and apps are very good and very realistic
Keep your expectations in check is my biggest suggestion because you wont have access to games like horseshoes and hang grenades, dont expect to go anywhere near Rift apps or games, will only have access to what the Gear Vr currently does or the Go section of software, this is Mobile VR through and through its not compatible with Rift.in fact i feel the best purpose this device will serve is media
On the other hand if you want to watch movies wireless and don't mind playing cartoonish, cell phone style games then this is for you
Besides media content, games are actually really fun, but with the limited controller and lack of basic, fun, free games to get started with, the headset never inspired me to slog through shovel-ware and risk purchasing games with limited gameplay
The Go has some extremely cool games but watching media is my favorite activity for this device
This is a good thing, since it gets you back to the real world for those of us that have a life to lead
But the Oculus Go controller is good! One other thing that is a bit of a bummer is the two hour battery life and the decision to not let you play while charging
the only negative thing I can think of is how much pressure it puts on my face
some apps we love are affected, face your fear (stranger things), melody vr (concerts eg the who, imagine dragons), next vr (nba and others) disney vr,
I have had my Oculus Go for a few weeks now and have to say it's the most amazing thing I have ever bought
Very good headset for the price, for beginners or casual users
Had to on-connect and re connect the controller many times and also the headset keeps losing the connection with the internet
Besides media content, games are actually really fun, but with the limited controller and lack of basic, fun, free games to get started with, the headset never inspired me to slog through shovel-ware and risk purchasing games with limited gameplay
If you are willing to use this within its limits it's well worth having and the most convenient headset out there
The battery life is not great, and the headset becomes uncomfortable after half an hour or so (at least for me)
A bit disappointing is the lack of serious games but never the lessit's a great experience and I guess just the start of many more to follow.
Yes it lacks power, but think of entertainment on the Oculus Go as akin to what you do on your mobile phone, whereas an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift has power but lacks portability, like your Xbox or Playstation

The lack of cords running into it is nice, compared to the full Rift system.
But the above problem should really be solved by AR theater, not by VR.You can check iGlass AR website out and see what type of improvement AR could offer vs VR, in term of safety, public space use and motion sickness free.
The positives - I always read that there aren't enough good apps, and to a great extent it is true, but despite of that some of the available apps are really nice and fun to have e.g. racket fury, ultrawing, swat academy...etc
These are pretty cool but be forewarned 40% of the population WILL get VR MOTION SICKNESS
