Reviews around 10 (5.00 of 5)

  • If Win 10 it was all there was to run my PC, I would junk it all and not look back
  • BIG mistake...since loading up Win 10, my computer is FAR
  • Now they have moved the goal post, and that applies to Win 10 as well
  • I am sorry that I upgraded either PC, Win 10 is a nightmare
  • I found the change from Win 7 to Win 10 was not as bad as I had feared

Reviews around price (4.26 of 5)

  • I upgrade my computers frequently, and am forced to pay this exorbitant price to support a monopoly.
  • Everything worked great and this was a decent price for this as well!
  • Find the best price they are all the same as long as its legit.
  • Works good price is right, needs a little more instructions on paper but if your good with 7 you can figure this out and it is much better.
  • My main criticism is the price for the OEM version.

Reviews around interface (3.63 of 5)

  • The interface is sleek and I liked it, but I can honestly say that when I reverted back to Windows 7, everything was that much easier.
  • For those who miss the old interface you can use ClassicShell or other third party software to get your old Start Menu and Explorer UI back, though I found I actually like the new Start Menu (after removing all the ads and pinning my own programs).
  • Overall, it's a smooth interface that takes some getting used to after my Windows 7 operating system (that performed flawlessly by the way)
  • Windows 8 should have been on every logon a choice of Win 7 interface or Win 8
  • You must use third party software to have similar user interface that actually looks like a desktop user interface and not a stupid tablet interface

Reviews around operate (3.49 of 5)

  • If you have windows try this free operating system as an alternative
  • Windows 10 is the most unstable operating system I have ever used
  • Great operating system still trying to learn all that it can do.
  • If you think Windows 10 is a great operating system for your computer, think twice
  • This is the worst operating system I have ever used (yes, that includes windows 8, for which the developers should be criminally prosecuted)

Reviews around window (3.48 of 5)

  • and it looks like windows 10 is more complicated and not easy to navigate.
  • I thought windows 10 would be more secure, but after some research, it is not.
  • I regret making the upgrade GARBAGE lags all the time and freezes all the time windows 7 is much better Dont install this S**T
  • No way I going to download - even for free - windows 10 !
  • Was unable to access network and rolling back to windows 7 crashed machine.

Reviews around version (3.48 of 5)

  • That being said, this is my favorite version of Windows since 7.
  • Stick with Win 7, because WIN 10 is a really bad version.
  • There is quite literally no difference between the licensed and unlicensed version of windows 10
  • I don't see why people say this is is not a good version of Windows
  • Windows 7 Ultimate is by far one of my favorite version from Microsoft of all

Reviews around upgrade (3.46 of 5)

  • I did an upgrade from 8.1 to 10 and it didn't work all that great.
  • get windows 7 factory key witch is free, then get the free upgrade to 10 don't buy it, cheers
  • I upgraded from Windows 7 to the "free" upgrade to Windows 10 a couple months back
  • Biggest mistake I made was the "free upgrade" to Windows 10.
  • Yesterday I downloaded my free upgrade to 10 from Windows 7, which I loved as much or better than XP.

Reviews around os (3.37 of 5)

  • Windows 10 was a quick and easy install, and overall a great OS.
  • Other than this, with a good PC, this OS will be great!
  • It's amazing how far windows has come from 95SE2 but seriously, this OS isn't half bad
  • The computer I replaced had Windows XP which was a terrible OS
  • Pretty awesome OS, basically like an enhanced Windows 7

Reviews around product (3.00 of 5)

  • working great , easy install , i would recommend this product.
  • ITS A SCAM!!!!!!!!I was sold a fake Product key with item
  • therefore I feel that I have wasted my money on a defective product
  • This is an authentic product and was delivered in a timely fashion.
  • No product key code was provided so this product was useless

Reviews around privacy issue (2.74 of 5)

  • I know when it comes to privacy issues, but when they do it by locking my computer down for 10 minutes, then I have a problem
  • Plus massive privacy issues and government invasion you have no option but to sign on for, because they no longer support anything else
  • People talk about the privacy issues with Windows 10, but to be completely honest
  • You should be worried about other privacy issues in your life other than Windows 10 since it covers a small percentage
  • Microsoft said this key will eventually stop working as it's meant to only be used temporarily

Reviews around ad (2.59 of 5)

  • Ridiculously overpriced (as to be expected from Microsoft) for a garbage OS.
  • Microsoft said this key will eventually stop working as it's meant to only be used temporarily
  • Put it in, it updated my old computer running windows vista, still working as of 2/28/18 without any problems(freezing, stopping etc.).
  • It's four stars because of the annoying ad for trying microsoft office free and stuff
  • I'd recommend anyone to ignore any negative reviews on the Operating system as this product works as it should for installing Windows 10.

Reviews around update (2.41 of 5)

  • The only way to disable updates is by lying to them and saying that your wifi is a metered connection and to not update on metered connections
  • To test if it works, next time there is an update, hit the windows key and type cmd, then run it as administrator and type "powercfg -waketimers" without the quotes and look for any task concerning updates scheduled to run
  • To test if it works, next time there is an update, hit the windows key and type cmd, then run it as administrator and type "powercfg -waketimers" without the quotes and look for any task concerning updates scheduled to run
  • That update made a lot of beneficial improvements to Win 10, imo
  • I installed Windows 10 right as it came out as the free update, thinking that I would enjoy it, because I did enjoy taking advantage of the Dev Program on the workstation at my work, which I don't use for any audio or anything, just rendering things

Reviews around change (2.30 of 5)

  • Remember you are hearing from someone who just upgraded, and I am not thrilled by the so-called exciting changes, which the upgrade advertises as it occurs
  • In fact, now you can't even do that, as the OPK "license" is no longer available for Win 7 OEMs (even though everyone, incl Amazon is unloading them as fast as they can on the innocent buyers), so the buyers of Win 7 OEMs are stuck with a very expensive sixty-dollar coaster
  • Terrible upgrade , too many unnecessary features and changes, which made windows terrible again !
  • but I find the changes from 7 to 10 make it more difficult for me to navigate.

Reviews around time (2.29 of 5)

  • I had figured that Microsoft would have spent some time improving their OS after the Windows 8 debacle, but I was wrong
  • I'm haven problems with windows10 isnot working good timeto time my computer ask to activate
  • I’ve been a somewhat loyal Windows user since I first used NT in a video store we owned and have lamented every time an OS I liked, like 98, ME & 7, were dropped
  • The ONLY reason to upgrade is some programs check what version of windows they are running on and Microsoft working with other companies like ADOBE will make sure you MUST upgrade, so since it is free I am putting it on an extra drive to start the painful time wasting process of learning what crap has changed, just to change it and make it look different
  • but they deserve nothing but lawsuits for wasting so many people's precious time.

Reviews around computer (2.14 of 5)

  • When all is said and done, Windows 10 broke a perfectly functioning, very nice gaming computer, and I'm $300 poorer for having tried it out
  • Secondly, windows 10 has an issue with hogging resources, any computer Pre-2010 will have an issue with running this based off of performance
  • It worked perfectly, I upgraded my computer from windows 7 32 bit to windows 10 64 bit, I had no problems using this product
  • Before I upgraded to this new operating system, I ran a Microsoft Windows 10 compatibility test on my computer and the result of the test indicated that my computer was compatible with this new operating system
  • … Windows 10 just stole my computer until it was done doing whatever it wanted without even asking me

Reviews around code (2.01 of 5)

  • cause i when i type the key on the case the code is invalid i retyped
  • It took loop magnification and a few different interpretations of what we were reading until we got the correct code
  • I took a chance on buying this given the inconsistent reviews regarding the Product Code.
  • I scratch and sniff open the Product Key while using a USB loaded with the MS download of Win 10 as my initial install."INVALID ACTIVATION CODE".
  • The code they gave me for the copy does not work on the activation

Reviews around key (1.95 of 5)

  • Well on the front of that one, there's a scratch off section where you recover your Windows 10 Home license key after scratching off and removing the silver coating much like a lottery scratch ticket
  • I contacted Microsoft asking them what the error was for and they said that the key was error
  • Windows 10 installed properly on my new PC, but I could not activate Windows because of the faulty key
  • Like many of the commenters below, the software didn't accept the key, and I began to feel like I got a bad product.
  • For under $100 you get an official copy of Windows 10 Home with a genuine license key from Microsoft

Reviews around error (1.95 of 5)

  • Installing this took 3 days of random errors garbage and mess
  • Solutions that only lead to new error messages and even more headache
  • PC has become slower, weird error messages and problem with starting up and unable to update itself
  • In order to correct the error I needed to already have a disc with the OS boot files on it, and the Windows 7 disc did not suffice
  • I did not get any blue screens or any weird errors (other than the sound driver not working) like other people

Reviews around file (1.83 of 5)

  • Then again the reason to use MS Office is that other similar office software do not always read MS Office file 100% correct
  • 10, 1 hr, exe file crashed 5 times. also checked resources, not even remotely close to maxing out anything.typing in fields such as search windows: this is happening to me a lot
  • No way that computer was so messed up by anything we did but the Windows download that failed left files all over the place that had to be cleaned up… in my opinion, though I can’t prove it
  • The install disc is missing drivers/files required for install, using Windows install creator kit to make a bootable USB drive was also fruitless and refused to install due to "missing files" even though it was a fresh ISO from their website
  • However, it's nice to have a licensed, complete DVD on hand for system repairs and recovery (yes, you can burn your own later using ISO files, but if you are doing a PC build and need to buy the COA anyway, why not get an official DVD?)

Reviews around review (1.75 of 5)

  • I would give this product a better review if the key code had not bean obscured by a stupid sticker, otherwise now stuck with buying another key from Microsoft.
  • I do kind of worry about posting a positive review as I think everyone is going to think I'm lying or
  • I have read some of those bad reviews and some of them didn't make any sence
  • I don't know why there's bad reviews on this, installation worked just fine for me and I like Windows 10.
  • but I don't exactly think the people giving out bad reviews understand how much it costs to make an operating system

Reviews around drive (1.40 of 5)

  • I installed it on a new hard drive that I just received
  • My PC hard drive died, so I bought a new drive, a new video card, and a new WiFi card that are compatible with Windows 10.

  • To all of the people worried about "privacy" the cold hard truth is that this is the 21st century and you have to walk the line between new features and privacy, less privacy inherently will allow more features and functionality
