I didn't want to fork out a lot of money on a uke without even knowing if I'd like it and really take it up, but I didn't want to get a cheap one and hate the sound because of the materials
This is a great ukulele, the sound is wonderful and it's fun to play

The only problem I had with it is that one of the strings broke and I had to get new ones, but that's usually always the case with cheap string instruments.
She felt so bad that the string broke before being played that she cried while opening her remaining presents.
Bought for my teen as a Christmas present and the string broke while it was being tuned
The quality of the kit is excellent and I do recommend it, as long as you go outside of Kala for your tuner needs

I've owned a cheap nylon string ukulele for over 3 years now and have wore it out to a point where the fret markers were scratching off
The cheap plastic/nylon strings were a huge turn-off.
The Nylgut strings make a huge difference from the cheap nylon stings some low price ukes use
