The 90-mm (35-mm-equivalent) focal length is great for portraits, or for getting closer to the action in poorly-lit venues
The focal length of 45mm (equivalent to 90mm) is the perfect length for portrait photography, specifically photos taken of a person from the shoulders and above.
The fixed focal length makes it less flexible than a zoom lens, but you can't have everything
At 45mm (90mm equivalent in 35mm) the focal length is ideal for portraiture
Can't add any more than has already been said about this lens but if you like the 90mm focal length this is the lens for micro 4/3.
So it is a wonderful portrait lens, great indoors and outdoors
It is a great portrait lens as well as all around shooting.
It is most useful for portraits to get great focus isolation of the subject from background and most importantly, including very, very low light portraits.
This is an amazing portrait lens and an even more amazing value
This is a great portrait lens that I can tell right off
Amazon sells a very good quality b+w 37mm lens filter if you want to buy one.
The 45mm produces that great blurry quality in the background while keeping your subject sharp
The great image quality more than makes up for those quibbles
The 45mm produces that great blurry quality in the background while keeping your subject sharp
As far as build quality is concerned, it is made of plastic, so it has a toy feel, but being so small, I don't see that to be too much of an issue.all in all, a great lens, great value!
You can get very nice bokeh and colors are rich and saturated
Put this lens on an Olympus OM-D or Panasonic G3 or GH2, and your images will beat the pants off mid-level APS-C DSLRs and, hard to believe, go toe to toe with the last-generation full frame DSLRs (i.e. the Canon 5d Mk2).
It gets things right, the color, bokeh, sharpness, AF speed, size, and price.
Good contrast, color rendition, and flare is well-controlled (two included photos were shot into the sun).It is a small lens, good for portability with a few other primes if you are not into zoom
Sharp as a tack, excellent bokeh, exceptional color rendition
Other highlights include being one of the sharpest and fastest focusing lenses on the Micro Four Third systems
At f/1.8, this is among the faster lenses for micro four-thirds photographers.
At $400 as of November 2012, it isn't cheap, but it's one of the best lenses made for micro four-thirds.
In fact, for the price the 45/1.8 is simply a stunning optic and through many users' experience is comparing well with anything in its price class not to mention many more expensive lenses
In good light this thing focuses every bit as fast as more expensive lenses on my DSLR, and with incredible precision thanks to the µ4/3 CDAF system
Note that those are older lenses that feels cheap, hardly any focus ring, and not sharp wide open -
Along with taking razor sharp images the focusing of the Olympus 45mm is very fast and nearly silent
Put this lens on an Olympus OM-D or Panasonic G3 or GH2, and your images will beat the pants off mid-level APS-C DSLRs and, hard to believe, go toe to toe with the last-generation full frame DSLRs (i.e. the Canon 5d Mk2).
The focus is very sharp and the auto-focus speed is fast
I bought this to go along with the Olympus OM-D. Very sharp, fast focusing
And, like the GF2, it's perfectly positioned between the preceeding and proceeding models insofar as downward spiraling price is concerned
I was very happy to have found a 45mm with such an aperture for such a reasonable price
The price was a little steep, so I had to wait a while to get it
This lens would still be highly recommended at 2 times its price, it's that good
They offered this product at a very affordable price but since these guys are located in Japan, I was a little worried that product will take too long to get
