It is very sturdy, has great controls for all adjustments you'll want and is a solid piece I'll use for small gigs.
But the Peak stand is made to hold up (in turn, it holds up relatively heavy music books) and has served me well for several years (just as I was about to condemn the stand, I called the company, they responded immediately by sending out a critical plastic piece that had become warped, and the Peak stand has been problem-free ever since).
I would just prefer a solid piece that has a smooth solid edge with no lip.
I got this stand mainly because, at the time I purchased it, it seemed very reasonably priced, so it was a happy surprise that it turned out to be an excellent piece of equipment as well as easy on the pockets
This one, however, is a solid piece, nothing falls off.
Great music stand, only criticism is the music holder portion
This is a great music stand and my kids have been using it.
For the past 4 years, they have been using those flimsy cheap music stand that I bought from the local music store to hold their books while practicing at home
My spouse hated his previous flimsy folding music stand.
Great music stand, plenty sturdy and can hold a heavy book.
The locking mechanisms for the height and tilt adjustment are made of cheap plastic and they broke after just a few uses.
Well built, solid stand that can be adjusted for adults as well as for my four year old violinist son.
Heavy duty nylon collars (not cheap plastic like others
The stands arrived yesterday with NO damage to the packaging, but one of them had a cracked plastic headpiece right out of the package!
Most of the stand seems like ice solid steel but the brackets that hold everything together are cheap brittle plastic which makes the rest a complete waste.
I am not sure what product the people who are leaving negative reviews purchased but I can tell you it is not the "On-Stage SM7211 Professional Folding Orchestral Music Stand"
And seeing as my children have already been through 7 other kinds of stands, and the other reviews for this product include plastic parts breaking, I am nervous about how this one will hold up.
I found this music stand and most all the reviews were very positive.
I figured so many people liked this stand that I would ignore the one review that talked about the plastic part breaking
