I agree with other posters that it is quite handsome and really well designed in that there is a compartment you can roll up the cables to stow them out of the way, a nice handle that 'clicks' into place, and a selector to choose the battery type
However for a charger that works so well the design for the cords is very poor
Well made, smart design, easy to use, rugged, perfect size for traveling with me to my boat.
It is well built, very easy to use, and if you are someone who cares about how it looks you will love the design.
The charger worked as it should for the first couple of charges, but then all of a sudden it would get stuck in 'charging' mode indefinitely no matter how long the charger was left connected to various batteries, never advancing to maintenance mode on the LCD display.

After a couple failed battery charger purchases, the Optima performance maintainer works as it should
great battery charger and maintainer I’d buy again it works with all batteries
Depressing as it is a sealed battery that shouldn’t vent and prior to now has never had any issues
Not a real negative thing, but I don't want it lit up all night in the garage
Ended up in the trash, what a waste of 200$. I have had zero problems with optima products over the years as almost all of my vehicles have red tops in them but this things was a waste of my money
I really wanted to love this thing but only after using it three times the storage hanger wings on the chargers back side that enables it to hook onto the storage caddie both broke off
I have owned this charger for about 6 months and have nothing but good things to report about it.
it must have fixed something it thought needed fixing; which I presume to be a good thing.
Nice unit and works very well with my red top optima battery.
Took my Optima red top to a big chain parts store, and they told me their tester (probably some professional, extremely expensive unit) said it was dead, reading 3V. I left it there for further analysis
This is an expensive charger and while it was working, it was a great unit.
Also, a great unit to have to simply keep your battery on when not in use to maintain charge.
After using it for about two months, the display began to lose scattered segments then the unit would fail to work at all
If you wish to put the charger on a wall a very durable plastic rack where the clamp connectors can be hung.

I like that it is compact, tells you what is going on with the battery while it is charging/maintaining, it is rigid plastic and can take a drop onto concrete from time to time.
Like I said, it has done what it has to do but the plastic is a bit cheap.
But that went about as well as you might expect, with the glue not being strong enough and the plastic being too brittle.

My only complaint is the display can be a bit hard to read in cold weather
But due to my very little driving and cold weather recently, I have noticed my vehicle was hard to start on cold mornings.
This baby charged and topped of the battery in the chevy, and turned around around and charged, topped off and conditioned the stone some odd year old battery in the garage
Batteryminder also offers a 5 year "hassle free" warranty compared to Optima's 3 year hassle warranty.
The LCD (central circular) went bad after several months (but < 1 year).
Now unable to use the wall hanger.. I carries a three year

I tried to recondition my son's 14 year old Optima Red Top battery and have been unable to get it reconditioned because the battery obviously has a bad cell.
In researching batteries on the web, I learned most conventional chargers will not recognize a battery that has dropped below 10.5 volts, and one charger I had gave an error code of a dead cell
I own a car dealership and it can save you $1000 as it can revive the deadest cells
My diehard starter/charger would'nt charge it, kept coming up bad cells, the voltage showed 5.3 volts today when I hooked it up and instantly the charger went into conditioning mode and the voltage started going up, it was @ 7.5 volts within 20min

Always conditions and then charges my Optima yellow and red top and std batteries for Jeep, Autocross car and 2 trailers withing about 6 hours for a dead <8 volt battery
My 2020 Grand Cherokee has an OEM AGM battery with an EXPLICIT warning that you can not exceed more than 14.4 volts for the absorption period
The attached pictures have data from two cheap 430 CCA 12-Volt flooded lead-acid batteriesQuestions
They share their charging profiles online with full transparency, and they do NOT exceed 14.4 volts, albeit at a slower rate of 1.25 amps
