I have used the Otterbox defender for years with my iPhone 5s

All in all, this is a very nice case and it should do a nice job of protecting the phone from the bumps and bruises that occur during normal usage.

The LifeProof case was twice the price and started falling apart in less than a year.

Taking them apart and putting them back together is sometimes a pain, but overall great product

I will say, however, that the case provided extremely good protection on the few occasions when it fell.

Still, you have to be super careful when removing the rubber since the opening areas can be easily broken and you can ruin the rubber protection so take your time and be careful.

For the price, it is great protection for my phone which I seem to drop all the time!

My previous was gave marginal protection (a drop by grandson cracked screen) and the buttons were difficult to depress through the case.

It offers superior protection, without being as big and bulky as some of the life proof

THIs case is fake and I dropped my phone twice and twice it cracked.

My phone has taken some gnarly falls and hellacious throws and only the case took damage

The case definitely makes the slim iphone 6 feel bulkier, but not in a bad way -- I feel more comfortable and safer using it now, as it doesn't feel fragile anymore

That might have been because I have a tempered glass screen protector on my phone already

However, I do remove the plastic screen protector and use a tempered glass screen protector instead.

Had this case come with a tempered glass screen protector it would be getting a five star rating.

If the belt clips were cheaper or furnished free as warranty item would get 5 star since out belt clips always break.

The clip broke off the holder and was purchased recently; otherwise would have give a 5 star!

I would have given it 5 stars but the one small gripe I have is that the case makes the Touch ID function not as responsive.

In short, I haven't been able to substantiate a single one of the negative reviews.

I can't figure out all the negative reviews, but what pushed me over the top to order was Otterbox's response to each of the negative reviews

It is locked in protection with a hard plastic then covered with rubber.

What I did the OtterBox DEFENDER is that I put a glass cover directly on the screen as protection, and I took off the transparent plastic cover the case comes with
