I just disabled the internal wireless card and connected to my 5 ghz router through the normal Windows Wifi menu.

I was skeptical at first, but for my laptop I just plugged it in, installed the driver, disabled my existing network card in the control panel, and my network speed was five times faster than my built in network card!
