Teapot does not auto shut off, lid warped

Low profile, nice blue light, easy open lid, sturdy base, easy to pour

I've used these kettles before and like them, however, this one arrived with a defective lid that doesn't close all the way.

It started giving me trouble earlier this month, when I depressed the 'on' switch, nothing would happen, sometimes I'd open the lid and slam it closed which would do the trick, but alas, no longer does that work, the kettle died at 7:23am this morning, EST.
