OXO BREW Uplift Tea Kettle, Brushed Stainless Steel
The handle is designed for ease of use and easy pouring
I loved the design/look and the one-handed pouring, but the "grip" handle which OXO is known for disintegrated and the cover of the spout melted from the heat of the gas stovetop
my lesson! The absolute best part... picking up the kettle and having the spout open immediately for easy pouring.
The unique pivoted handle is comfortable and safe, and makes convenient pouring a breeze.
Linked handle/spout allows for easy pouring and filling without touching hot parts or removing lid3

It's good looking and complements the look of our stainless steel appliances.
Beyond that, it's just a great looking, great feeling kettle!
The first thing you notice about it is the sleek, modern look--definitely not your grandmother's kettle!
Cool looking kettle and neat idea, but its flawed.
This is a GREAT kettle, great-looking and great-performing.

n’t had that problem yet,
n’t had any melting issues
After further research, there are at least three types of stainless steel.

I got the brushed stainless steel version back in October

I bought the shiny chrome "stainless steel" model, washed before using, as they recommend, then boiled water for a pot of tea.
I like the way the cover opens when you apply the right pressure on the handle.
I'm very grateful, because it really is superior, especially the way it automatically opens when you pick it up.
The kettle's spout and mechanism that opens it will break apart as they are flimsy.
I like the way the handle lifts up and its ready to pour.

I know my husband is embarrassed that he purchased such a shoddy tea kettle, but how was he to know just how crappy it really was?
The kettle's spout and mechanism that opens it will break apart as they are flimsy.
This is my absolute favorite tea kettle; it is surprisingly not easy to find a great kettle
This is a great tea kettle, but the Q.A. division of the company needs to do better work.
I recently replaced my oxo good grips uplift tea kettle.

Very versatile, great design and works as a kettle should.
In retrospect, the self opening handle seems like a questionable design decision.
but it sure would be nice if such a great design held up as well as it looked
I like the design and the ease of use of the Good Grips Uplift.
The silly design results in water dripping when you pour

The design and execution of the handle mechanism as well as the overall product is really well done.
Generally I love Oxo products, but I was really disappointed with this one
n’t had any melting issues
Terrible product!!!!
Terrible product unless you are buying it just to decorate

The kettle's spout and mechanism that opens it will break apart as they are flimsy.
It’s a cool feature, but I’m still concerned somebody might forget that lifting the pot causes it to open and it might not be expected or remembered.
The flick-handle is a wonderful feature and makes the kettle.
The final great feature about this kettle is the one that gives it its "uplift" name: the handle.
n’t had that problem yet,

The handle also gets fairly hot, enough to require use of a potholder to pick it up
The handle gets too hot after water is boiling more than a couple of minutes

The spout melted, the lid melted and the handle gets too hot to hold
The handle gets hot so remove from range with caution, not as much as most

I chose this model over other tea kettles because reviewers loved its low, train-like whistle.
This teapot is perfect and I think it is just as good as the really expensive models
After months of usage, our newly purchased stainless model is going to charity for the following reasons.1
so I purchased the same model, but this time the top melted and whistle fell out in 2 months
we have the stainless steel model and leave ours sitting on the stovetop, which means it gets dirty/greasy from nearby cooking.

It's a very nice looking teakettle,& the whistling is ok, not very laud, but ok for a small apartment like we live in

For whatever reason though, I never heard a whistle and didn't realize it was boiling until I smelled the overheating plastic.
Recently the plastic around the whistle on the kettle melted and the whistle fell off.
The hard plastic flip part that the hot water goes thru seems to be melting also.
I bought the shiny chrome "stainless steel" model, washed before using, as they recommend, then boiled water for a pot of tea.
, the water burned down, the kitchen had a bad melting plastic odor for an hour, as I took off the cover, the handle broke off, and it totally committed suicide.

I hate ear-piercing noises of any kind
I severely dislike high, shrill noises, so I thought this was the kettle for me.
I really do adore this thing and suspect I
I suppose those who complained about shrill or other unpleasant noises from the whistle would not understand that if it were melodic and pleasant nobody would pay much attention to it when water reaches boiling and heat should be turned off

It helps to avoid cramping already-pained fingers
No more burning your fingers, pulling the plug from the spout.
The cap opens and closes without burning your fingers.
